I am so grateful that we were staying at this amazing property with such wonderful hosts for our family Christmas, in addition to being a stellar property, the hosts went above & way beyond expectations. My husband had a medical emergency and had to spend the entire time in the hospital. The host made every accommodation we requested to help us through this difficult time. I would rate this property 5++ if that was an option.

We stayed here for my birthday weekend with 10 of my friends and it was absolutely wonderful! The house was so spacious and we loved being in such a peaceful area. We went to the KU vs K-State game and we were able to get an Uber for less than $30. The house had so many fun games to play and they really made it feel like we were at home. Definitely would recommend staying here for a fun weekend in Lawrence!

We are seven friends from high school (we now live in five different states) who get together once per year. This home was perfect for us. Ashley and Brian have created an amazing oasis in mid-Kansas for groups of all kinds! As a grandmother who plans the all-family vacation each year, I can assure you this home is perfect for all types of people needing a peaceful getaway. Here are some highlights: - The kitchen had everything you could possibly need! I have a ‘vacation rental’ box I typically bring and had forgotten it - it wasn’t needed! There were plenty of paper goods, cleaning supplies and typical condiments. - Such an impressive welcome! The fruit basket, snacks and wine made us want to come right in but the coffee bar made us want to stay! They thought of EVERYTHING! Wonderful variety of coffee flavors along with all those teas and hot cocoa. - The weather changed while we were visiting but the temp inside was remarkably consistent. Very impressive for such a large home. - We had a couple of minor questions during our visit. Both times we contacted the owners through the app. We had our responses within minutes. Literally. - There were two different sitting areas large enough for all seven of us to sit around and visit. The dining area seated us very comfortably with room to spare. - Plenty of towels! Frequent VRBO users don’t need to pack extra kitchen towels, either. Every one of us commented that we would happily stay again! Thank you!

The property was awesome! It was a good location for what we were in town for. The property was very clean and tidy. Owners are amazing, they live close so any issues they can be there in no time to help out! The patio and deck are awesome! If going back to the area would definitely stay here! Check them out!

Ashley and Brian are wonderful hosts. The setting is peaceful and relaxing with both great indoor and outdoor spaces. Being in the woods yet in close proximity to Lawrence is a bonus!

This house was clean, the inside looks newly renovated. Great space for a large family reunion, we had 11 and didn't even use the 4th bedroom as we put all the kids in the basement to comfortably sleep. Lots of space in this house to spend time together and to get away. The location was just a quick 8 minute trip into town.

The house was beautiful. It was fully stocked and even had some extra nice surprises for their guests. It was very clean and had everything we could have needed. Excellent house! Excellent owner! Especially excellent service.

We were in town for a volleyball tournament. This place was perfect, we stayed here with another family and there was plenty of room for us to all spread out and have our own space. The basement and backyard were great spaces for the kids! There are plenty of outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy mother nature.

What I loved about this property was the big welcoming windows the beautiful decor and lighting. Breakfast food was available to help start your day to include fresh fruit, like a bed and breakfast. Everything one needed for a home away from home was here. This home really had everything including the outdoor furniture. I loved that it was very limited carpet and the entire place was roomy, it was 9 of us, ages 2,3, 14, and over 18. To top it off the Christmas trees (2) and decor was a very special added touch. I will always cherish the time spent here with my family, what a way to end one year and begin another. I highly recommend. Thank you for investing and taking pride in your property and the little touches that means so much.

Our family loved our stay over Christmas break. The home was extremely clean and had plenty of space for our family of 5. We were just a short drive from Lawrence which was great for visiting family. We really liked all the little touches our hosts did to make the home welcoming!

We had a great stay and Ashley was very accessible! Only suggestion would be to add some kitchen basics - serving utensils, serving dishes, etc. Might not be an issue for people not trying to cook Thanksgiving for 15!! Coffee bar was a nice touch!

I wanted to find a place to host a gathering for my brothers and sisters. We all live in different states and don’t see one another very often. However, I didn’t want them to be restricted by the structure, formality, and expense of a “hotel” accommodation. The “Pleasant Grove Retreat” provided just the environment, amenities, and hospitality I was seeking. The property itself is clean, comfortable and spacious. The location allows one to relax in a beautiful, natural, and private setting but be close enough to the shopping, restaurants, and entertainment of the city to “go out on the town” if you so desire. The hosts, Ashley and Brian, are like having your own private concierge just a phone call away. They go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel like VIP clients. I would definitely have my family or friends stay here again and I heartily recommend it to anyone who needs a place relax and enjoy those they cherish most.
