Take a step back in time & relax at our charming vintage property on a large lot with lots of parking at the edge of town.
Has 1 Private Bedroom & 1 Open Loft Bedroom with optional curtain, plus 3 pull-out couches in LR. Sleeps 9.
Conveniently located to groceries, restaurants, & Laura Ingalls Wilder house & museum. 5 mi to Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co, 8 mi to SMORR, & 12 mi to MFTA.

The local railroad which is a large part of the history of our town runs along the bottom side of this 3 acre property. We are not bothered by it but need you to be aware of it. Town is a no whistle zone.
Guest access
The basement is locked and off limits. Otherwise, feel free to explore all the way around yard at your own risk, keeping in mind the hazards posed by the old foundation and crumbling basement on the property near Commercial Street.
Other things to note
Please be aware of safety issues regarding your children and our loft, loft ladder, front porch, and back deck. Climb our trees and explore our property at your own risk. There is an old foundation on the neighboring lot which we also own which could pose safety hazards.

The inside of the property is nice. The owners are intentional in providing a warm and thoughtful experience. There are many little things that go above and beyond your typical stay.House is has a bit of an echo and carries noises at night. The train is audible. I grew up next to a traintrack and was surprised at how loud it was as there is some distance between the house and tracks. We covered that with white noise playing from our phones while we slept. No issues. The biggest drawback on the property is its location. It is on the corner of an industrial zone. Across the street is an industrial business with lots of traffic including semis. And the zone is rundown. My biggest recommendation would be for the owners to make the grassy section next to the intersection better kept. It is overgrown and draws away from all the wonderful work they've done inside. The inside is 5 out of 5. The outside 3 out of 5. Communication was ok. I had to ask for check-in info while traveling. That information included a request to keep our dog in a kennel when out if the house. That request should have been delivered upon accepting the reservation. It could be that that info was given and I missed it. It is the cleanest pet-friendly place we've stayed. It is a great location for getting to the local sites and restaurants. The owners and town as a whole were super friendly. Overall, I do recommend Mansfield to visit, as well as staying at this house. Definitely pet-friendly.

We rented for 2 days during which our son was getting married at a nearby vineyard. The location was great, house exactly as described and exactly as shown in listing pics. Check in and out was easy. We will definitely stay here in the future while visiting the area.
