Captain Sweetser's Inn was the highlight of our vacation. Lori and Ginny are very thoughtful and full of information on the history of their property and the community. Lori guided us to some excellent restaurants. The Inn is very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect.

Lori and Ginny were fabulous hosts! From the warm welcome in the driveway, to a tour and history of the home, breakfast in the morning and sweet conversations! It was such a treat from other types of travel! A reminder what a difference these details and personal interactions can really have on your trip. I had such a nice stay and recommended this B&B to anyone traveling to the area!

The hostesses were amazing. We had a great breakfast every day and they made sure that the kiddos were completely happy with their breakfast as well. There were also several board games available for them to play. Comfortable beds and great view from our room! We would highly recommend for couples and families alike.

It was my 1st experience at a B & B. I was delighted to have had such a nice experience. Everything was comfortable and the owners were so nice and accomodating. I highly recommend it!

Tiny bathroom and a long way away from our room. The home is amazing. It was only the bathroom situation that was quite uncomfortable.

It was a delight to stay at Captain Sweetser's Inn. The hosts thought of so many details and were very accommodating for those needs that were specific to me. A warm welcome, helpful suggestions about the area, and delicious breakfast stand out as highlights. I will be recommending this place!

Lori and Ginny are wonderful hosts! They serve you delicious breakfast every morning, the rooms are very clean and the decor is subdued and calm. They have games available for you to play and books with a maritime theme and local history. Lori gave great recommendations on restaurants and what to do and where to go as our schedule was unplanned and wide open. Have I mentioned the sunroom? GORGEOUS and COMFORTABLE! Leather couch and recliner and a fabric recliner as well. A table with I think it was chess set up at one end…. STAY HERE! You won’t regret it!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the home from Lori. The rooms are spacious and beautifully restored and decorated. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom, immaculate. Breakfast prepared by Ginny was delicious and plentiful. We prefer the charm and hospitality of a B&B over a hotel anyday!

Our stay was fabulous. Our host were above and beyond my expectations. They were so friendly and told us the history of the place we stayed. Just can’t say enough about their hospitality. Their breakfasts were fabulous and made sure all that were at breakfast got what they liked. And everything was fresh and hot. I just can’t say enough about them. I brought my autistic 33 year old granddaughter with me for a wedding and they were so sweet and kind to her. I would return anytime to them.

Lori& Ginny gave us a delightful visit 06/14/23. Beautiful grounds, nice porch views and a comfortable room. In addition, a good breakfast to get us forward on our trip. Fun folks to talk to as well! And excellent coffee and tea too. We plan on a return visit to stay when visiting the area sooner rather than later.

Received a nice welcome and given history of the Inn. What a beautiful home with large rooms. My bedroom upstairs had a wonderful view of the bay. Very nice inn keepers who were very welcoming. So nice to come down in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee and be served a wonderful breakfast.

Antique bed squeaks all night with every movement. Mattress was not good for our backs. But that can happen. Very nice hosts!!

The entire property was fantastic. Considering the house was built in 1850, the integrity of the house was outstanding. The modernization was done very well. The owners, Ginny and Lori were very informative and accommodating. Traveling away from home for eleven nights, Captain Sweetser’s was our favorite place for lodging.

This is a beautiful property with great hosts. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast of bacon eggs hash browns and toast was delivered. Our only drawback was that we only stayed one night!

This characteristic hotel is the well-preserved house established in 1850, approximate 1 hour drive to Mt. Dessert island. The owner is very nice.

I had an amazing stay, the hosts were extremely gracious, the space was beautiful, breakfast was delicious. I was on the last leg of a cross country trip and all of the places I stayed, this was my favorite. Would love to visit again.

It's a beautiful home--it's like visiting a wealthy relative in the 1850s. Being in a lovely space, looking out to an ocean bay, and being well provided for makes a long journey easier to recover from. The owners/hosts are lovely people.

Ginny & Lori were excellent hosts. Breakfasts were simple but good. The rooms were clean and tidy. We stayed at thr Baltic which was a huge room, but the bathroom was small in comparison. It had a huge closet space as well. There is plenty of backyard space for the dog to have a run of needed. We were there for juat 2 nights but it really wasnt enough. There is lots to explore in this area.

This was one of the most wonderful bed and breakfast stays I've ever had. The beautiful home that you stay in is not just appealing to the eye, but interesting in its history. The innkeepers were prompt in their communication, and they were extremely personable, we ended up having some lovely conversations with them just as part of our stay. They were extremely welcoming of our three children and our three dogs, this is a rare find! And they have amazing coffee! This is practically unheard of in this part of Maine. Excellent breakfast, and strong coffee = relaxing, joyous stay.

This was such a great place to stay. We made last minute reservations but the staff was so welcoming and accommodating for us. It was such a respite. Our family of four had two rooms and could spread out as we were on a long road trip( and needing a space!) The historic house was beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and the ladies were very friendly and helpful with tips for our travels. I would highly recommend staying here.
