We loved our stay in Birchover Chapel. It was ideal for our family group of 4 adults & 2 children, with more family members camping just up the road at Barn Farm. We found it to be comfortable & homely with a well equipped kitchen and certain 'quirkiness'.
We were happy with hotchpotch of towels that may be a bit worn but if you're looking for a spick & span property with white fluffy towels & 'perfection' this isn't the place for you. We liked the curtained off free standing bath that is the ensuite (as did our grandkids!) Would be nice if the taps in the sink in there were secure & both worked!
The keysafe was difficult to use and door not very easy to open

Location was good close to places of interest and in a lovely village
Chapel was ideal space for a large party to holiday together .
Comfortable lounge , Large screen Tv
Comfortable beds
Dishwasher was brand new and the previous issue was addressed for our stay.
Good communication from caretaker
Property needed a proper clean. Lots of dust and cobwebs everywhere. The kitchen cupboards were dated and needed repairing in some areas
Taps in bedroom were loose and didn’t work at all
These were disappointing issues which can be easily be addressed .

Quirky property in a beautiful village with good walks. Food at the Red Lion was exceptional.
Advertised as a three Bathroom property. It is not. There are only two toilets. One shower and a highly impractical bath. We would not have made the booking if it had been made clear there are not 3 FULL bathrooms. I contacted the owner who had sent us a lovely welcome message to let him know that one of the duvet covers appeared to have mould marks on it. He replied to say ‘He would look into it’, nothing was done to rectify the issue whilst we were there. The property is in need of a deep clean. When the shower in the family bathroom was used water was dripping through the lounge ceiling. The window in the family bathroom is broken so there is no ventilation.
This property COULD be something very special. Unfortunately the lack of cleaning and correct listing brings it down. Such a shame.
