Brilliant

The cottage was lovely and absolutely perfect for our trip. We were greeted with a lemon drizzle cake (homemade) which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏

Great location and village, shame about the rest.

Location. Embleton village itself. Close to amenities and the beach. Plenty of parking. Double bed was comfortable. Size of the kitchen was great. Washer/dryer worked well. Plenty of fridge space

Filthy. Smelt of wet dog. Living room: All furniture had dog hairs on it and needed hoovering under the cushions. The whole carpet and the mat in front of the fire needed a deep clean. Kitchen: The oven was dirty and greasy. There was chipped crockery, which we were not able to use in the microwave. Microwave was wobbly and dangerous, as it had a leg missing. Both toilets needed to be cleaned properly, inside and out, on entering the property. The shower cubicle had black mould, as did the bathmat provided. The tiles around the bath and toilet were dirty, as were the skirting boards. There was dust behind the beds and some rubbish on the floor from previous occupants. One of the windows in the main bedroom would not close, as it was out of alignment. The recycling and rubbish information was vague. We spent days killing flies, as windows were left open. The building work next door was loud and intermittent. The large skip outside was partially full, so work had been going on for a while. A heads up would have been nice. The welcoming pack was insulting. Four coffee pods, for seven days , for a house that sleeps six, was ridiculous. Also a packet of biscuits, a bar of chocolate and a pint of milk was not very welcoming!

Really charmed by the village of Embleton. The cottage was delightful and so near the Greys Inn!

Self catering. Lovely large kitchen.

Shame the Fridge was in another room.
