The good first. It's a very quaint upstairs flat in a sleepy village within easy distance of Scarborough. The village has a couple of pubs, both of which are decent (one traditional 'locals' pub and one slightly posh gastro pub).
The accomodation itself is pretty spacious for a couple - there's a single bed in the bedroom for a 3rd occupant too. Lots of books, a radio, a TV and a workable kitchen. The shower was decent, and overall we found it comfortable enough for a short break.
Check in was as simple as picking up the keys, and check out was equally easy.
I'd like to preface this by saying I hope the host takes the following as constructive criticism, I'm not complaining, just suggesting a few things that could use attention.
Firstly, things could definitely be cleaner. The bathroom was the main concern, along the back of the sink was black. The plastic strip at the bottom of the shower screen was brown with gunk, the toilet brush was visibly dirty (yes ok it's a toilet brush but still, you don't want 'bits' on it). There were other bits in there which showed it'd been a while since it had a deep clean. Most of it could be sorted with bleach and elbow grease.
The rest of the rooms were ok, but could have used a good vacuum. There was an old vacuum cleaner in one of the rooms which may not work as well as it should. We also found a lot of cobwebs in the corners of rooms, obviously you get spiders everywhere, but these are really attention to detail things that should be picked up on.
The kitchen setup is a little odd, having no sink. There's a washing up bowl provided and a sink in the bathroom, right next door, but it does feel odd draining pasta down a bathroom sink. A really minor thing overall and I understand it's not something the host can fix, but worth other visitors knowing. Also we felt that, although it's self catering, some basics like salt, pepper and cooking oil would have been helpful.
The smoke alarm right outside the kitchen seems very sensitive, I managed to set it off while cooking an evening meal, then while making toast the next morning - nothing was burning in either case. Closing the kitchen door obviously solves the issue.
The mattress on the double bed is urgently in need of replacing - there's a 'pit' on the left side.

Authentic place. Huge area. Really cool.
Much Better if night lighting can be more bright. There was a issue in the refrigerator. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. We are happy with the place.

It was a lovely location with loads to do nearby. The cinder track made a good way to visit Scarborough by bike too! The beds were comfortable and you could nearby.
One of the hot plates didn't work and there could have been more cutlery and cooking things for making meals.
