Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline. Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon. You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs. Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring. Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish. Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below). Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit. The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November. There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams. What’s nearby: This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean beaches including popular access on South Jetty Road then the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean. Some trails wind up over and through sand dunes offering hikers the opportunity to experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera! Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving, three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. The property was lovely, very clean, everything you need for cooking and baking and a gorgeous view of the lake! Plenty of room to be alone and two great areas for family gatherings. It was peaceful and very relaxed. Really enjoyed our stay- we only had one small glitch and that was that the property people did not send us the code to get in- however once contacted we got it within 15 minutes- so all was well!

We had two families stay over Thanksgiving. We took our Razors and rode the dunes. The house was perfect. The teens loved their own room and hot tub.

Our yearly fishing trip over 35 years and would say this place fit our needs perfectly. The place was super clean and had everything you would need for a trip. our group ranged in age from 19 to 64 and everyone had fun. If you rent this place be in good shape the fun goes all the way to the lake and when you walk back up you feel it.

The house was great. It was clean, very easy to find, close to many of the coastal attractions, while still giving the feeling of a fairly remote lake house. My wife nearly lost her mind as the deer from the neighborhood actually let us pet them and feed them carrots & apples.

Gorgeous views from a comfortable split level home. Beautiful sun rises on the full upper deck and a fabulous newer hot tub to finish the day on the lower deck. Beds were ultra comfortable with all the extra blankets and linens you need.. The kitchen had all the hardware needed for great meals. Do bring your own condiments, foil and plastic wrap. There was even an entry on the deck for our wheelchair bound family member! Perfect!! And also a walkable path to the dock. Wow, that a fantastic place!! We'll be back!

Great time at a great home. Everything you needed was supplied. View of lake was outstanding! The hot tub and fire pit was enjoyed by all. The only downside was the water was a lot farther away than what it appeared in the pictures. There was a very well maintained walk to the dock but it traversed a steep hill. Overall it was a great stay.
