Stunning Views, Disappointing Host
Irana has a privileged location that sets it apart from the other ecolodges in the area. The rooms are right in front of the ocean, and the sound of the waves accompanies you every night — something we really enjoyed while sleeping (though worth mentioning for those who are sensitive to nighttime sounds).
Food was one of the highlights of our stay: Rubiela has an exceptional touch in the kitchen and the portions are more than generous. Despite having tuna every day, she managed to give it a different spin each time. A detail we loved was that every night the rooms were scented with palo santo smoke to keep mosquitoes and insects away.
The outdoor showers add that adventurous touch to the whole experience. It was an authentic and memorable stay.
There are a couple of aspects worth mentioning for future guests.
We combined two experiences, sport fishing and whale shark watching, at the suggestion of Marcela, the owner. The total time was three hours, equivalent to what the brochure lists for a single activity, yet we were charged the price of 1.5 activities for the duration of one. This was particularly frustrating given that Marcela had suggested the combination as a way to make the cost more manageable and that we would get a good deal afterwards. To add to this, Marcela joined every boat tour we took, which gave us the impression that she was personally benefiting from our bookings so she could add content into the hotel social media channels. As guests, having the property owner present throughout our excursions significantly limited our ability to have an authentic experience with the local culture and community.
The information provided about the experiences is incomplete, with costs often omitted until the very end. For example, we booked the Viche tasting without being told that the price listed in the brochure applied only to sessions held in Nuquí, and that a different rate would apply in the Guachalito area (rate not mentioned, only after the activity was completed). This was never communicated, and we were expected to infer it on our own, which felt unfair and lacking in transparency.
Our first impression upon arriving at Irana was visually stunning. Unfortunately, Marcela did not greet us when we arrived by private boat. She approached the dock but spoke only to her staff, leaving us feeling invisible as guests. First impressions matter greatly in hospitality, and as a host, there is significant room for improvement in that regard.
Taking all of this into account, the price point is difficult to justify. The overall experience fell short of the standard one would expect, and the lack of transparency and attentive hosting detracted considerably from what could have been an exceptional stay.

Paradise found!
A private secluded beach in the middle of paradise! A 30 minute boat ride from Nuqui, Marcela and her staff couldn't have been more accommodating, I will for sure return.

Soulful paradise with ovean on 10 meters from your bed
Very zen, secluded, super friendly owner. Delicious fresh food.
Nothing.

The perfect place to scape and connect
It’s an incredible place in the middle of the nature, we saw some turtles and dolphins in the near. Everything was perfect
Time goes fast when you are having the best moments! Lots of places to visit and not enough time!
