The staff spoke little English but they were very friendly. The location is superb, very central and convenient and walking distance to anything you’d want to see in Platis Gialos. The room was tastefully decorated as well, very welcoming.
I’m very noise sensitive and my room was right next to the front desk, so I could hear all the talking so I couldn’t always take a nap when I wanted. I felt it could have been a bit cleaner - there was dust underneath the bed and rust and black grout in the shower. But overall good value!

The town was quiet during low season (April). Only one restaurant open, but fortunately we'd decided to rent a car so could travel to other parts of the island. Irini Pension is clean and comfortable, we had a little enclosed balcony area which we loved. Facilities in the room are minimal (coffee sachets, sugar, kettle, basic crockery, fridge). It might have been nice to have another blanket because it got quite chilly at night. But the water was hot and owner friendly (we only encountered her once though, it would have been nice to see her more often to ask for another blanket).

Cozy room. We had all we needed, small fridge, teapot to boil water, comfortable bed, small closet and a safe. The pension is 2-min distance from a beautiful beach, and 10-min walking distance from the port. Just a lovely place.
The bathroom is a bit small en when showering there is water going everywhere. You should also be aware that in Greece toilet paper does not go into the toilet!
