Thistlebank Yurt had everything I needed for a perfect little getaway for me and my dog. The yurt itself was spacious yet cosy, and the outdoor kitchen and shower room were brilliant additions that made the stay feel really comfortable.
Even though there’s another yurt and a B&B nearby, it still felt very private and peaceful. The sunset views over Llangollen were beautiful, and the location was ideal — around a 45-minute walk along the canal to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and roughly the same into Llangollen.
As well as the canal walks, I drove a short distance and enjoyed gorgeous routes around Panorama Walk, the surrounding hills and mountains, Castell Dinas Brân, and Horseshoe Falls. There’s so much stunning scenery right on the doorstep.
The nearest pub, the Sun Trevor, is only about a 10-minute walk away. You can cross the road and follow the canal path to avoid the main road, which makes it a much nicer stroll.
A lovely spot for a quiet break with beautiful views and endless walking routes. I can’t wait to go back!

Lovely yurt, in great location. Very homely with on site parking. Comfy seating outside. Great communications from owner. Pub with good food only a short walk away. Handy fridge & cooking facilities in quirky covered outdoors kitchen area. Electric blanket for cold nights. Dog friendly.
No towels. Only a potable camping toilet, which seemed strange when they had proper plumbed in shower & basin.

Location. Yurt was great and comfortable with everything covered that was needed.
Narrow steep pitted lane only navigable in bottom gear. No welcome or interactions with owner in person which was odd and a bit rude. Stayed two days.Shower curtain too short by far and had to mop floor with own towels after use. No free internet and main station unavailable.Some things needed some TLC......umbrella broken, stitching on settee ripped.

It was a good location, and inside the Yurt itself was cosy.
We felt like some of the smaller details were missed. Some examples, there was no kindling for the log burner, two half used toilet rolls, no towels. We went out and bought this ourselves. I think it’s fine if these are not provided, but for the price we paid, we did expect these things. Or maybe a heads up on the listing about no towels.
