Our stay at Bale Cabugao was nothing short of perfection from start to finish. If you are looking for a serene, beautiful getaway that balances relaxation with top-notch hospitality, this is the place to be.
The accommodations were impeccably clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to blend comfortably with the lush natural surroundings. Waking up to the peaceful environment and stunning island views set the perfect tone for every day of our trip.
What truly sets Bale Cabugao apart, however, is the host Jayson and his staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, cared for, and right at home. From seamless arrangement for local island tours to ensuring every detail of our daily stay was taken care of, their warmth and genuine island hospitality made all the difference.
Whether you're unwinding after a long day of island hopping or starting your morning with a quiet cup of coffee taking in the atmosphere, Bale Cabugao offers a slice of paradise. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in El Nido and will definitely be returning on our next trip! Highly recommended!

Fantastic location, staff and breakfast. The views are breathtaking; the pictures you see on the internet don't do it justice. Extremely worth it. I would wholeheartedly recommend it if you want an economical, low-key, non-hotel stay in El Nido.

Itās a bit of a hike to get up to the property, but it is worth the effort

Staff were super helpful, kind and caring! We could easily book trips, buses or a scooter there. They are definitely the strong point of this place :) And of course, the view was beautiful.
- No A/C in the room (which we knew in advance) ā instead there were 3 huge fans (one would have been enough, they took up too much space in a rather small room). Each of them was very loud, so we couldnāt leave them on at night.
- Very noisy outside from early morning (around 5 AM) ā many roosters crowing one after another all the time, plus dogs barking. So you wake up at dawn, itās very hot, and you either open a window/door and hear all the outside noise, or turn on a fan and have noise inside :/
- There were many steep stairs leading to the property. We were aware of this, but it could still be inconvenient, especially for someone with knee issues etc.
- The room was a bit worn out ā with some marks on the walls, uneven floor, very basic bathroom (+cold water only).
- There were some bugs inside ā we often woke up covered in bites despite having mosquito nets on the windows.
- The route to the house was unpleasant (between drainage areas from houses) and poorly lit.
