Very uniquely beautiful hotel! Loved the location and staff. Staff so friendly and very attentive to our needs. Quiet, upmarket hotel where my friend and i could chill, relax and enjoy the beautiful views and ambience. Really enjoyed that some food products came from their on site farm. Food was also delicioso! Hotel set in fab grounds with nature and greenery all around you. Room was exquisite. Space, views and linens. Would seriously love to return one day...
Nothing really. I would have liked a kettle so i could make a cuppa here and there, but maybe that's a British thing!

We loved the hotel, it very clean and with a modern decor, the room very spacious, however the bathroom didn't have AC so it tended to get very warm in there. The breakfast was delicious, we enjoyed the pool and the use of the kayaks, the lake is beautiful.
Staff very pleasant.
THE ROAD TO THE HOTEL IS TERRIBLE!! It's a dirt road and it takes forever to get there.

The location is stunning, I’ve never stayed somewhere like this. It felt like staying at an exclusive resort. The facilities were fantastic as was the food and staff.

Very beautiful rooms, comfy, cosy, quite a few geckos getting in through the window seals but that comes with the territory. Most of the staff were a delight and happy to go the extra mile. It was great to make free use of the kayaks too.
I think there are lots of things that could change that would improve guest experiences at the hotel. I’ve got lots of experience in the industry, but regardless of that, whoever is running the hotel only has to ask themselves why a luxury hotel on a lake is so empty?
1. The restaurant should not position itself as a gastronomic experience, it should find something it can do well, and do that as much as possible. I would recommend either finding some higher quality ingredients (if possible) or changing the chef. Either way, the experience you’re suggesting does not find its way to the plate. I know it’s difficult because getting fresh produce is probably harder but some flat whipped cream, half a banana on some raw pancakes is a pretty poor excuse for a breakfast.
2. Be more conscious of the music you’re playing and the atmosphere you’re trying to create. You can afford a license to play something other than covers of classic hits, you have Spotify, you can do it better.
3. There was no light on the fire exit, which were the stairs you go down and up to get to the room, we nearly fell a few times.
4. When our guests walked through the hotel, they came to our room while I changed out of my swim shorts and into evening clothes. During that time (2 minutes?) we were visited by two members of staff, one who refused to accept my partner’s answer, and one who then told me I couldn’t do that, and that he ‘watched us on the cameras’ and he ‘knew the owner and he would be very angry’. I’m not sure if he was trying to threaten me, but it all felt pathetic.
I’m not asking for western hospitality, but I am asking for respect. Don’t try to intimidate us when we are your guests.
