Yiannis Manos Hotel Resort

Overall, shared area facilities and hotel conditions were very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful (10 points). Nice swimming pools, good bar area. Located in a quiet are of Malia but still in walkable distance to the city centre (10-15 min). Decent food and drinks.

Shower was tiny and what we all hated was that there was no shower cabin just a shower curtain. I don't know anyone who likes being wrapped in a curtain while showering (and it was happening continuously), so we ended up completely opening the curtain and we let the water splash on the tails and go to the drain in the middle of the bathroom. Also, kitchen is seriously lacking. It has like one piece of a cutlery and one deep and one flat plate per person. Glasses are tiny, so it's hard to drink a beer or a cocktail out of it (I assume it is intentional to use their bar service). Small kettle and table top stove, making even a scrambled eggs was a challenge. No washing-up liquid/sponges or towels and no area to dry the washed up plates glasses. Definitely a NO for anyone who thinks of cooking any sort of meals (porridge/scrambled eggs/sandwich is a max you can do), again I assume it is intentional to use their restaurant. One last thing (and I don't say it as a complaint but rather as a warning because it could have made a difference to us - family holiday - and we were not aware of that, maybe should have read more reviews) is the crowd. Around 80% of the people at the hotel are 18-25 year olds that come to Malia to party hard for a few days (we stayed here mid June), you can find 3 or 4 elderly couples and 2 or 3 families with children but vast majority is youngsters trying to have fun. I don't mean by that that there is a loud music or shouting at 03:00 a.m., management has it well under control, and any noises are quickly hashed out. What I am trying to say is that if you are a family, although the hotel has all the facilities that family might need (apart from the kitchen) company of youngsters might not be what you are after.

Dirty toilet facilities with bugs. Staff mostly looking to make profit not very helpful. Room not worth the price
