The hotel was lovely once we got into the retro vibe.

We visited Vasco da Gama 40 years ago and the hotel is largely unchanged; it has remained authentic to the period in which it was built. We loved the pool area and snack bar. The beach has beautiful white sand, has a gentle slope into the sea and is long and good for walking.

Unlike the hotel, Monte Gordo has changed a lot, with more hotels bars and restaurants a big wheel and a fun fair for the kids, but it’s not our scene really.

We had a lovely time, happy with breakfasts, music in bar was gentle and didn’t intrude on conversat

Breakfast was standard. Location is fab so near the beach.

Storage room for suitcases would be a benefit.

Great value and comfortable hotel and in a good location,

Good selection of breakfast and offered specialist milk for allergies. Breakfast and dinner were very repetitive though and sinner not worth 35 euro per night that they charged. Waiting staff were friendly and attentitive. Happy hour in the bar was good, half price drinks 5-6pm. Rooms were large and comfy, the hotel generally was exceptionally clea and the house keeping team were great. Good location and price, would recommend

Staff on reception weren't the friendliest. My air con was slightly damaged and no kettle in the room. No irons available either. My toilet flush broken slightly and some aspects of the hotel are a little run down but I was very happy with my stay

Great value hotel in a stunning location.

The breakfast was excellent. Great choice and good coffee. The location simply could not be better. Walk out the back onto a boardwalk leading directly onto the beach. Walk out the front and you’re 50m from café shops etc. No charge for safety deposit in room. Lovely pool area with plenty of beds and umbrellas.

I really can’t think of anything to put here.

It's a lovely hotel, olde worlde, if you like modern It's not for you. Stayed B & B, the buffet breakfast is exceptional, the location is as good as it gets, room cleaned 7 days a week, the pool and pool area spotless, I had room with sea view, it's beautiful, it was my 2nd stay there and I'll be staying there again in 2023

Great hotel ruined by the noise 5ft floor! Fix that PLEASE!

Staff are very friendly and the hotel is right at the beach. All rooms have independent AC that you can turn on and off and set your temp. The breakfast is good. And the bed was soft. Room with sea view is amazing.

I was staying in fifth floor and there was a horrible continuous noise like a washing machine in the spin cycle. This is not my first time in the hotel and other floors don't have this noise! I couldn't sleep without earplugs for sound blocking. Please fix that noise! Also that room need a bit of a renewal.

The pool and location was lovely.

We weee able to sit outside for breakfast which was nice

We HATED people smoking around us whilst we were eating breakfast. Surely an outside area could be made available for those who do not want to live in smoke especially the families!

Loved the Brekfast and the location but the rooms were a dissapointment.

Breakfast was superb! Best Buffet Breakfast I have had in many years.

The Room was old and much smaller than I expected. The Bathroom was cramped and very old! Would not stay here again until the rooms are modernised! Dinner was expensive and overpriced!

Super access to the beach

location and view from balcony are excellent. the bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent. the swimming pool is also very sizeable and great for a proper swim

The choice for breakfast did not include gluten free bread or cereal. There were no plant based milks available and the coffee was not good. The bed room is a tight space filled with a bed which is no problem for a solo traveler but would be awkward for two. I always like a kettle in my room or access to hot water for tea during the day and there were neither

An outstanding hotel with the most amazing staff and facilities.
