The location is just wonderful. The head waiter (Luca) and the caddy driver (Giovanni) really do their work with a passion. The cleaning ladies are wonderful too - very very clean environment.
For the price we paid, we really expected way better service!! We’ve paid a considerable price and were expecting a proper 5-star service which unfortunately we didn’t get. We started getting so frustrated that at a point we just said “this is the level of the service and we’ll just have to accept it for our stay here”. The front office ladies should be sacked on the spot - they clearly don’t care about the place continuously refusing to try to service the guests’ requests to the point that the owner or the owner’s daughter had to intervene to get stuff done. So the hotel is built a few years back which is fine by us, but the service should be adequate to the structure’s needs. To explain better, we were travelling with 2 kids with buggies and children’s toys. Now being the structure is a bit old, there is no lift and our room was located at a different floor than the main floor - so everytime we had to carry the kids and buggies through the stairs, not very comfy at all. If we wanted to go to the parking area for the car, there was an uphill walk distance of about 700 metres - but the caddy service from reception to parking worked till circa 7pm, so anything requiring the vehicle after sundown was inconvenient - i would’ve expected the caddy service to be available 24x7 at the hotel or till midnight perhaps. The breakfast left a lot to desire - sweet items were ok with a good variety but it didn’t cater for savoury-breakfast lovers with basic ham and cheese only available. The coffee was very good and freshly brewed, exceptional actually! When it comes to the pool, there was no bar service. So if you wanted a drink or a cocktail or a snack by the pool, you had to go to front office and hope the owner or the owner’s daughter were there as otherwise the front office ladies would just respond there wasn’t any catering staff and they couldn’t do anything apart from a coffee and some water at max.
