About this house rental
"Joe's", The Corner house, (Main Street/North Road)in the village of Shanagarry, has recently been renovated to a very high standard, providing the comforts of modern living, whilst retaining it's traditional feel. The house can sleep up to 4 people.
The two storey stone house is well equipped; gas central heating and wood burner in the living room. It has its own private garden/court yard. The house comprises of a large living room with wood burner, television and WiFi.
The kitchen diner, opens onto the enclosed court yard. The kitchen has a washing machine, clothes dryer, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer.
There is a downstairs toilet and two en-suite bedrooms on the second floor. Bed linen and towels provided.
Shanagarry, (An Seangharrai) meaning old garden has links to William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania state.
The village has a grocery store with petrol. Village pub. Kilkenny design centre and cafe. Darina Allen's Ballymaloe Cookery School and gardens (2 minutes). Ballymaloe House, craft shop and cafe (5 minutes). Two minute drive is Stephen Pearce pottery.
Other places of interest. Approximate time in car:
Nearest sandy beach- Shanagarry beach ideal for swimming, angling and is a paradise for bird watchers. (3 min drive)
Garryvoe blue flag beach and Garryvoe Hotel (2.7km)
Ballycotton is a fishing village with several pubs and restaurants and coastal walks (4.4km).
Historic town of Youghal (22km).
Fota wildlife park and house (25km).
Midleton and Jameson Distillery Experience (15km).
Castlemartyr Resort and Golf (15 minutes).
Cork Airport (42Km approx.).
Midleton rail station (16Km approx.).

Our stay at this village house in Shannagarry was very pleasant. So much space for us, and the bedrooms so airy and full of light. We loved the kitchen table from where we watched life at this corner of the village. The proximity to the Ballymaloe Cookery School added to the please. We wandered der gardens twice and had a fantastic dinner at the Salty Dog who gets their food from the BCS. We stayed for 4 nights and might come back some day.

Bree and Maura were wonderful hosts. Lovely to chat with and very helpful. Our first trip to Ireland was a pleasure. We had good weather and enjoyed a very restful day in the garden.Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

Joe’s Corner House was a wonderful accommodation for a week’s stay in the area. Modern, clean, spacious and a great location. Maura was an excellent host with a lot of little touches that were greatly appreciated. Thank you!
