About this house rental
Located in Monteverde, this charming house for $220 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. The house has three rooms each with a Queen bed. Two of the bedrooms have private full bathrooms, while the third shares a full bathroom with the common area. The whole house has solar (electricity backed-up) heated hot water. Also a fully equipped kitchen, dinning area, washing machine/dryer and a common area with satellite TV and WiFi. The house has wrap around balconies and is built on stilts that place it in the trees canopy and gives it a feeling and view like no other house. The interior of the house is furnished and decorated with unique handmade pieces tailored specifically for the house that make the place an attraction in itself. It is located on a large property, there are other rental houses on the property but out of shouting distance to provide each with privacy. Just up the road from the property there are several restaurants, a small supermarket, art galleries and souvenir shops. Also in the area there are several attractions such as private reserves, a butterfly garden, night tours and others. Interaction with Guests: Our hostess will confirm your reservation, meet you for check in and help with any questions you might have about the house, the area, tour options, dining suggestions on anything else you might need. We will leave you to yourself once checked in but are available at any moment for any questions or help you may need. Getting Around: Most attractions offer transportation but there are also taxis on call or just up the road and a public bus that runs between Santa Elena and the Monteverde Reserve. If you are driving 4x4 is not required but is highly recommended not just for Monteverde but for Costa Rica in general (or at least a car with good ground clearance). This property has two security cameras. One is outside facing the parking lot and the second one is also outside facing the back of the house.

Our family of four had a great 5-day stay at Canopy Wonders this January, 2024. The interior is amazing, and the house is quite roomy. The three bedrooms are well removed from each other, so there is a lot of privacy for everyone. You are right in the forest, and the views from the abundant decks are delightful. We were visited by a troop of coatis, and also saw agoutis, armadillos (at night) and capuchin monkeys.
The house is close to town but you would never know it when you're there.
Daniela will provide you with all the information you could possibly need about how to get there, restaurants, places to go, etc. Thank you, Daniela, for a great stay!

This was one of my favorite VRBOs ever! The woodwork is amazing, the home is clean, and the beds are comfortable. The location is close to restaurants and shops at edge of town, and short drive to several reserves. But the best part is being immersed in nature. The elevated house has huge windows and multiple balconies, so you are literally surrounded by the forest and wildlife.
Perfect for BIRDERS! We saw life-list species on the trails around the larger property, on the gravel road to the house, from the front stairs, and through the huge windows in every room. Every morning, I took my binoculars to our bedroom’s secluded, covered, wrap-around balcony and birded with my coffee before even pulling on my hiking boots. It was magical.
The washer and dryer were great in Monteverde’s damp climate. Dehumidifiers in the bedrooms helped too, though we turned ours off at night to hear the outdoor sounds. Layout was perfect for three couples. WiFi supported lots of streaming. Host was responsive and professional. Fresh banana bread when we arrived was delicious. I would stay here again in a minute! Pura Vida!

No surprises which is great. The location is excellent and the property is too. We saw many birds including the mot mot along with several and mammals, including monkeys, coati squirrels, agouti and even a Mexican Hairy Dwarf Porcupine in a tree next to the master bedroom balcony.
Our host, Daniella, was prompt and honest with her answers and helpful in every way. My only complaint about the trip was in regards to the roads in Costa Rica. If you drive, be prepared to take your time. Rushing will not help a bit!

This is a beautiful house. The woodworking is amazing and the huge windows allow you to see the forest from every room. We saw and heard monkeys everyday and other creatures (maybe more insects than desired but it is a cloud forest). Daniela is very helpful and they offer an on-site breakfast if desired. The location is private but close to town and the Monteverde Reserve. Highly recommend.

This beautiful house is a unique work of art standing above the forest floor. Master carpenters have created a wonderful interior space with so much to admire, flourishes of wooden detail. Despite this, the house is very comfortable and functional and is a great living space.
My initial dialogue with Ernesto was handled promptly and courteously. Daniela then took over and was an excellent point-of-contact, friendly and helpful, before and after our arrival. The property was cleaned to a very high standard. The WiFi was robust.
The property is down a rough, unpaved, stone road. We were in SUVs.
There are a handful of good eateries within 20 minutes walk. We took a torch and are glad we did.
A brilliant place with nice, helpful people in charge. Highly recommended!

The nicest wood floors i have ever seen! The rock inlay was absolutely beautiful! The wood inlay around in the door trim was a very nice touch. The rooms are all so far apart 3 couples can sleep there and never ever hear each other! The balconies around each room and everywhere else you look are incredible! The host is a delight and a wonderful person and cooks great breakfast! Go here and you will never want to leave. The leave a book tske a book offer is a nice plus to the property too. If you’re looking for a very peaceful place to read and have monkeys come up and say hi… this is your place! The property is gorgeous, very clean and well maintained with lots of wood details. Daniela, the concierge, was communicative and very helpful both in checking us in and providing information about local tours and activities. The kitchen had all the essentials and it was great to have access to washer and dryer. Monkeys came to visit our first day. We were disappointed not to see them again.

Wonderful and very cool place. absolutely spotless, everything worked great, and we had everything we needed. the property was also super - nice trail around and through the forest/ family property that includes a fantastic view of the ocean!! playground and relaxation spot add to the attractiveness.
the best part was our host family. very gracious and welcoming, always helpful and responsive to any question we had. and with the plans they have, this spot will only get better.

If you come to Costa Rica to be a part of the amazing country then this is the place for you. The Canopy House is set back amongst the trees where it lets you feel you are definitely a part of nature, but a comfortable walk away from delicious restaurants and small market. The hand carved wood work is gorgeous and something we’ve never seen. We felt very lucky ti be able to experience such a unique property. The Canopy House is truly Pura Costa Rica!

This house is wonderful. The photos don't do it justice. It's bigger and brighter than it looks. There are windows everywhere which truly make you feel like you're living in the trees. It was very clean. The beds were comfortable and had extra blankets if you wanted them. The water pressure in the shower was great and we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen had everything we needed. Little extras like tea, coffee, salt, sugar, shampoo and conditioner were provided and appreciated. The house feels very secluded and offers a lot of privacy, yet it's in a great location and close to everything you go to Monteverde to do. We saw tons of wildlife from the deck including birds (toucan, motmot) and animals including coati, fox, and agouti. Our family of four had a wonderful time in Monteverde and we all loved staying in this lovely, unique home.

I didn't get to stay at this lovely place as I was unlucky and contracted Covid and had to quarantine in San Jose. My famlily was able to enjoy this lovely vacation home, though, and I was treated to rave reviews of the property. The home is beautiful and the uniqueness of the wordwork is more beautiful than the pictures can convey. When my family arrived, there was a loaf of carrot bread waiting for them - what a lovely and welcoming touch. They loved everything about the stay - the accommodations were perfect! They were ecstatic to report that there more than fifteen Coatis under the house one afternoon (gentle creatures just looking for ants!). Ernest was a wonderful host and arranged taxis and took care of their every need. Would absolutely stay again!

The property was outstanding, clean and spacious, and the setting was unique, nestled amongst the trees. The bedrooms had fantastic views of the forest, and wildlife moved around the property with ease, making observation lots of fun.
The roadway leading into the property is rugged, and you have to proceed slowly down the gravel road. Having a 4 x 4 to access this property is recommended.
We loved the house and were very appreciative of Ernesto, he was a gracious and helpful host.
Would definitely stay there again and recommend this property.

Seriously Awesome!!
The Howler monkeys showed up the morning we were leaving. Could hear them all morning but couldn't see them until the last moment. Made my trip.
The artistic details in this place were so beautiful. Look for all the mushrooms.
- Cleanliness was a 10. (Really people, get over the insect thing, nothing to worry about)
- Just be aware it is out of town a bit. A car was nice.
- I wouldn't recommend showing up there in the dark, however I am positive Ernesto will guide you in if needed.

Striking place. Located just outside Mount Verde.. Hear howling Monkeys in the early morning (bit scary at first not expecting it LOL). Two negatives..not great lighting especially in the kitchen (suggest a bit more lights or better bulbs), definitely cannot leave food out for a second or the ants are coming in.. Highly rec'd this place if you like a really cool place! We enjoyed it very much!

This place is incredible! Great for our family of four with two teenagers. Would also be great for three couples. It is so unique and amazing, we just couldn’t believe our eyes when we first walked in! Gorgeous woodwork and well laid out. The only thing I’d change is to have a more comfy couch. One night we had a lot of rain and to hear to come down on the metal roof was awesome! Loved every minute of our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone!! Thanks for the bread upon arrival, it was delicious!

This home spared no effort in the details. The pictures on the vrbo site do not do it justice. It is far more intricate and beautiful in person. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were nice. SUPER clean, and had all we needed.
The wood accents seemed overboard in the pictures, but once we arrived we saw how detailed and beautiful each piece was. The floor to ceiling windows gave spectacular views and through the comforts of a beautiful home, we felt we were in the trees. Every room has a wrap around porch/patio which we used to spot interesting birds and animals. We saw a few monkeys make their way across the trees, and the sound of the breeze and rain was amazing. The nights are really chilly so no AC is needed and I'm one who normally keeps my air super low. The details in this home were just spectacular. We wished we were there longer and would definitely stay there again.

This house is wonderfully unique in many ways. The furniture and decor is all about trees - from the tree stump made into a beautiful coffee table to the light fixtures to the engravings in the floor. Ernesto was great in quickly responding to my messages and fixing any problems we encountered. It was clean and the kitchen already had some essentials (salt, oil, ground coffee and sugar) for us to use. We were welcomed with a loaf of homemade banana bread - such a nice touch. The location was close to town but remote at the same time. We were awakened by the sound of Capuchin monkeys in the trees and on top of the house. We had some bananas that we fed them and they were really cute. Truly a unique experience! Highly recommend this property!

Place was bigger than my dad and I needed. our family of 6 could have easily stayed here. The wooden decor was uniquely beautiful and interesting. The wildlife, especially birds, seen here were a real treat. Having a kitchen and washer/dryer were definite benefits also. We would highly recommend this place and stay again woth our family.

Wow! There is nothing like living in a treehouse in the middle of a rainforest. This place was amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. The windows were huge and privacy in the middle of the trees was incredible. Beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. Being in the middle of the forest there were bugs but they didn’t bother us at all. We felt comfortable and completely safe the entire time. The manager was easy to get ahold of and made sure we had what we needed for our stay. We loved the sights, sounds and smells of living in the middle of the rainforest.
