The winged back chairs on the veranda (stoep) are the best place in the world to be in the evening. Listen to the world around you going to sleep while the cicadas wake up. Just fabulous. The staff were excellent, helpful and charming. Comfy beds, good shower, pleasant evening meals if you asked and good breakfast. Also a nice small pool for each of the three properties on site. Easy walk into town. Interesting museum over the road. Just to note, the white room is up some steep stairs and some might find them problematic. Highly recommended.

Yellow Aloe is a lovely place to discover the beautiful Clanwilliam Dam, Pakhuis Pass Wilderness Area and northern Cederberg Mountains. Because of wildfire, I could’t enter the famous Algeria Valley, Hence, this target has to be left for a better season in the next years. Thanks so much to the team for the pleasant hospitality, the rich South African Breakfast in a lovely Garden in this likable Guesthouse, and, last not least, for perfect and sensible organization.
