18 month travell odyssey from Mexico to Patagonia...8 countries Spectacular!
Beach access, sunshine and relaxation.
The owner is a complete selfish, inconsiderate, heartless wirhout empathy towards a guest with special needs. Should not be in the hospitality business sector.

Excellent location and great sea view
Great sea view from the balcony and restaurant, table and seating area outside the room, excellent location seconds away from the beach, hot water, internet connection with relatively fast speed but not always stable. I believe they will have a swimming pool ready over the next few days, which will be a nice addition!
The photos posted on Booking are confusing, we were expecting to be in a different room than the one we were allocated. They should be more specific about which exact room you have booked (we had the impression that our room would have its own balcony and that it would be bigger). The breakfast includes eggs with ham, bread, coffee and juice. It could perhaps include an alternative to ham for vegetarians (e.g. cheese) and maybe some fruit. The room feels a bit small for two people with a couple of suitcases, I imagine it will get a bit annoying in case of longer stays. We stayed for one night, so it was perfect for us.

Very good
The manager, Robert is a good guy. It's best to ask for him and discuss your accommodation needs and travel experiences with him. He speaks English, Spanish, and Swiss/German (among other languages). The staff will accommodate what you ask for, within reason of course, just be willing /motivated and clear in your communication (use Google Translate on your mobile phone if necessary). Overall, I found the staff to be receptive to feedback - this was a positive aspect.
During the period I stayed at La Pachamama they were constructing a new swimming pool. It was like staying on a construction site, so very loud during the day - BUT - the evenings were quiet - AND - it will be a cool place to stay once the pool is complete. Probably a few months away yet though (I stayed late Dec, 2022).

Exceptional
Right on the beach and so close to everything (although it is a small town so most places are close by). Staff were so nice and friendly. Room was basic but comfy bed and shared bathrooms were spotless all the time. Lovely breakfast included and great view from the restaurant terrace.

Superb
Loved the location in front of the beach. Took a night bus from Cuenca that got to Mancora at 5 am and the night security guard let me chill in the hammocks until the receptionist came in the morning and I was able to check in early for free. Decent breakfast. Next to a bar so a bit loud at night but the hostel itself is quiet (at least when I was there. Good tvs to watch football.
Slighty loud at night. Lunch and dinner food could be better

Poor
Friendly staff. Quick response from management and accomodating.
Noisy. Could definitely hear my neighbors and the local nightclub was loud from 7pm-5am.

Best Hostel I've been to in South America
Robert who runs the place is a hero(his home brew in particular is the stuff of legend). I've been traveling for 5 months in south America and without doubt this is the best place I've stayed. It's all heart. The staff are brilliant(particularly Caesar the night watchman) and their food menu has everything a Scottish person wants. I've been all over the world and stayed in many places folks, this place is a gem. It's located exactly where you want to be. For all of you looking through booking.com unsure where to go in Mancora; stop it. This IS the place. You'll love it here.
There is nothing not to like, which is a rare thing(and in general I complain about the slightest things). I stayed in single room with shared bathroom; the toilets were clean and the shower rooms have hot water(I'd read reviews on here saying no hot water).
