Doune Guest House

The locations was fantastic. Staggering distance from the Old course after a good or bad round, and staggering distance from the local pub after commiserations or celebrations after that round. Close to the town too.

Nothing to note, unless it's possible to train the seagulls to be a little more quiet at dawn.

Central, friendly host on phone when needed, very clean, great shower and hairdryer. Our room on the top floor was lovely and bright

Well located with easy public parking and very clean facilities.

The location was ok, and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely toiletries in the en suite.

First impressions were that the place is tired. The carpets are very marked and looked filthy - this may not be the case but its how they looked. The ensuite in my room looked fairly new, but I could not turn off one of the shower heads properly. I did meet a guy on the stairs (possibly owner) who said he would look into it. When I came back to my room it was turned off. However during the night it started dripping and there was a puddle on the bathroom floor. I closed the shower door, but the water then bounced off the door. I had a very disturbed night. I also thought the cost of the breakfast which was in a local cafe, was very expensive, I got much better value elsewhere.
