Needs lots of updates. 1st room wallpaper pealing off the walls, safe did not work, mold in areas, dirty sheet left on closet floor. 2nd room smaller, dirty/stained sheets, towels and toiletries randomly changed/replaced. Outside was 4 Star - rooms were not even close. Front desk staff were polite, apologetic and did what they could to make things right. Cleaning staff and laundry company need to improve significantly.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past and have never been disappointed. For an older hotel, it is kept up nicely. The rooms are a little small but are clean. The beds are extremely comfortable! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Please note that there is no free parking (it is D.C.), and the valet was expensive at $55/day.

Visited for my husband's birthday. From the moment we checked in, the hotel staff was nothing short of wonderful. They made my husband (and myself) feel so important and special. The hotel has huge rooms and is a great place to choose for any occasion.

Very much enjoyed the location of the hotel, though the overall quality of the fixtures in the room, and water pressure in the shower, wasn’t as good. There was peeling wallpaper in the room, was stained in one place, and the outlet kept pulling out from the desk it was set in. Expected a bit more for the price.

What a wonderful hotel, the architecture is beautiful, it was very clean and the staff are amazing! From the front desk to the valet to the manager, they all went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back!

It was warm in DC and the air conditioning Wasn’t working in the rooms. I called the front desk and they told me it’s because they hadn’t switched over to air conditioning yet very strange that they would have such an outdated system!

I was in town for business and I thought the hotel was convenient and comfortable. Staff was very friendly!

Location is great but rooms need to he updated. The ceiling paint in the room and bathroom was peeling. No clocks in the room. And the hallway had a bit of a sewer smell...they did offer to relocate us but the smell wasnt in the room.

Overall this place is decent. Great location. Our room could stand a better cleaning. Vent in bathroom was full of dust as well as the baseboards. Most people wouldn’t notice this but it’s a pet peeve of mine. We had a hard time adjusting the temperature in the room and the shower never really got hot.

We had a wonderful stay from start to finish. The front desk was super helpful, the room was clean. Will stay there again and highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for one night. Toilet didn't flush. Hair dryer didn't work. Got charged a "historic preservation" fee of $23.19 5 days after leaving the hotel.

The property is old, and it shows. You can see some charm in old furniture but chipping paint is not charming. Location is great for a business traveler. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good. The worst was the bed and absolutely the worst pillows ever!! It's a shame, as a business traveler I would like to have a comfortable bed, pillows. Not here.

We were fretted with an upgrade to a large corner room! Love the old details of the hotel and appreciated the well appointed and upgraded restrooms! The linens and bed were excellent. I arrived at the airport and realized I had thrown away my driver’s license. My room had already been cleaned but Ninette was able to fish it out of the trash!! Thank you, Ninette!!

Pros: Staff was friendly, rooms were very nice, the VIP perk was great.
Con: only option is Valet parking for double the price of the garage across the street. No complimentary breakfast or snacks.

Really impressed with the warm hospitality of all of the reception staff and service throughout the hotel. Fanny was especially top-notch. Clean room, well-updated older property.

Everything about the building and the staff were awesome. The decor was beautiful and the condition was great. The parking was over priced and there was no breakfast.

I paid through the app, checked in and all went fine until I checked out and I was told I had to pay additional hotel fees. I just agreed, didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, but this app cannot be trusted. Hidden or additional fees can apply and nobody tells you until you check out.

I love the interior in most rooms which always make it feel warm and cozy! I would say besides the constant waves of cold air, this is a hotel I really enjoy!

Very nice and comfortable stay with great staff and convenient location! The water fixtures in the bathroom all had rust and limescale. The bathroom itself was somewhat small with peeling parts of ceiling but nothing major. Overall a great stay
