Really enjoyed all the attractions very age appropriate for my 6 year old daughter definitely recommend for families with young kids

Very nice, good activities for the kids, staff was very helpful and everything was clean.

Expedia paperwork lists check in as 3pm. Upon arrival castaway bay staff informed us 4pm was check in. They said they couldn’t help what Expedia told us. We did not receive our keys until after 5pm! I would have thought they would have at least made sure we check in on time. We finally had our room so my children could get changed and enjoy the pool. We thought the struggle was behind us. The next day we were in the waterpark for about an hour when they chased everyone out. They ran out of pool chemicals. They eventually let people back in to about half the park but the majority remained closed. In a two day trip we missed out on about half of our waterpark time because this facility is poorly managed. At check out I explained our terrible experience and asked for the managers email. They wouldn’t give it to me. They took my info and said they would call the following week to book us a complimentary stay. They never reached out. My co-worker that had a similar experience put it best “don’t waste your time go to great wolf lodge”

The water park was nice and perfect for our 2 1/2 year old. Water park was clean and seemed very safe. The hotel room was below average. The comforter on both beds was yellowish and stained. Two of our four bath towels and one wash cloth had dried blood on them. The bathroom ceiling and around the mirror had hair hanging from it likely from a blow dryer. The water park made it worth the $200 plus I paid, but I can see why its half the cost of Great Wolfe Lodge or Kalahari.

Stayed the day after Christmas and had a great time come back 2 weeks later water freezing experience was not like the last hard to say if we'll stay again

The place is as advertised. Waterpark is fantastic for little ones, teenagers might get bored quickly. Rooms are very spacious. Beds are a touch on the hard side and wish they had bigger/more pillows, very small pillows especially for a king sized bed

First the property price ok but heat broke employees not friendly almost rude except Starbucks pool area cold lifeguards rude and rooms not comfortable i will only go to great wolf or kalahari never come back again

Our family had a blast at the Castaway Bay waterpark! I appreciate the longer span hours it is open compared to other waterpark resorts we have visited. It was great to get in first thing in the morning and ride the slides without any line ups or waiting! The room was clean and in great recently renovated condition. The fold out bed in the chair is a clever use if space, and was comfortable for sleep. We didn't prefer the hard floors / lack of carpeting in the rooms. It wasn't as cozy feeling, but is an understandable choice in a waterpark resort. The biggest concern with hard floors was it was very loud without any sound dampening overnight. Other guests making poor choices letting their young kids run down halls yelling, and slamming doors echoes in the room overnight. We aren't typically light sleepers and haven't had this issue before at another hotel. After 10:30pm our entire family was woken up by a group including toddlers loudly speaking in the hallway, and the repeated slamming of doors for around 20 minutes. Again at 11:30pm it sounded like a young child was running up and down the hall yelling, and doors were slamming. Without carpet for dampening it is very loud and sounds like they are yelling in your room. When people are knocking or slamming doors late at night it sounds like is is your door. Just something to be aware of. Overall we enjoyed the resort, and are glad we tried it!

So much fun so many things to do. The waterpark is amazing! Great water slides, wave pool, kiddie play area, water basketball jacuzzi and so much more. A fantastic place to take the kids for a family trip. The rooms are are upper clean even though the beds are on the small side. Don’t buy a pop out of the vending machine, there is no price listed but your card gets charged $5.50. We will definitely be back.

For a one night getaway with kids especially for New Year's Eve it was perfect

Overall, it was a good experience. My kids loved the waterpark and had a lot of fun. They were too little for most of the bigger slides. It was nice having access to the water park before check in and after check out. The room was pretty basic but clean. Didn’t like that it didn’t have carpet in the room. We only saw one of the costume characters. Check in process was pretty slow but staff was friendly.

We had an awful experience the front desk employees were rude and not helpful it took hours to check in then our keys didn’t even work when we got up to the door to bring our luggage in so we couldn’t get it.

Rooms need updated if the price is going to be so much for a room per night. They should offer free breakfast with the stay since it’s supposed to be family oriented. Also, there was an older lifeguard who was rude and yelling at several children including mine. I understand that they should be stern with the bathers but to treat them like they should know the rules is unprofessional and all the life guards should be on the same page. For example: we were able to take our almost 3 year old in the hot tub one day and then the very next day, was not allowed to.

Wonderfully surprised by the magic of this place, especially in December for little ones (I think the atmosphere was similar to a Disney Christmas with sea creatures for a tiny fraction of the price and much closer to our Central Ohio home). The water park is perfect for small ones. Clean hotel and friendly staff throughout the building. I definitely recommend if you have elementary age kiddos or even preschool age children. My daughter loved her time here. Better than Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky. No contest.

Loved our stay. Recommend everyone to stay. But I would stay 2 days at least so you can enjoy all the activities they have to offer.

Great plans! Remodeled recently and wonderfully clean. Water park is very loud and could be a little warmer, but everything else is very nice. Be aware every extra that costs money is crazy expensive ie $6 for 5 frames of golf, $10 for 9 holes of mini golf, arcade games are like $2 each, one as high as $7. The stuff that is included is awesome. Decorations so so nice. Food and drinks are also very expansive but it’s nice to have everything inside and not have to use coats or cars in bad weather. And rooms are good value compared to competitors. You’ll need to ask for more bedding in rooms but everyone is so nice and they have it clean and ready. Book it your won’t regret it.

I went to Castaway Bay for my niece birthday weekend. That night as the girls were about to go to bed a bed bug emerged. Then so did another. I throughly checked everything and seen no obvious sign. But I never checked the pillows. Lesson learned.

I didnt like they were out of blankets but i loved that the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable even bringing a stack of sheets for us to use like a blanket. Best employees hands down! Friendly and caring!

Well when booking they advertise 10 water slides plus a lot more. When we got there most everything was closed. The front desk refused to do anything about it. We drove over 4 hours to go for it to be closed. Housekeeping knocked on the door early even with the do not disturb sign on the handle. Through social media they said to contact them through email which I did. Ended up calling multiple times, emailing and leaving voicemails for them to just ignore us. Not to mention the price of the room and it’s supposed to include the water park except most everything is closed so they really just scam you and steal your money. You do not get what you pay for.

Food, entertainment, and water park had later hours. Very clean.

Half of the water attractions were not running saud not enough staff however as much as the rooms cost every thing should have been available for use.

I will never go back to this hôtel. They have the bedbugs and I brought it home with me.I 'm suffering now and I have a baby so it's really hard to treat this bedbags using the chemical product.

This place was great. So much fun. The room was clean and the amenities. Can’t wait to go back.
