Super friendly and thoughtful front desk

We stayed for three days over Christmas . Our room was not cleaned once during our stay. I understand finding and keeping staff is difficult for everyone. The service industry has changed drastically in the last few years and not for the better. We will choose another place to stay for our next visit.

Rebekah working the check in desk was quick and informative. Perfect combo after a 6 hour drive. 😊 Breakfast (free) had a good selection and make your own waffles.

The free breakfast was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good hotel for the price. Property was clean and staff was friendly enough. Decent hot breakfast. Location very convenient for attending an event at the Charleston Coliseum.

In serious need of an upgrade.

Great rooms and staff. However, I have never seen worse luggage carts in any hotel or condo I’ve stayed in worldwide. Plan to roll or carry your bags.

Room was not very clean

The room we stayed in our first night had a broken heater and the window blind could not be raised. The refrigerator was completely iced over in the back. I'm not sure if the thermostat was working or not. We asked to change rooms for our second night. The staff was kind and gave us a room which was nicer. The bed was good, and that's an important thing!

The staff was pleasant and offered assistance when needed, Tara checked us in on a busy day and she was so nice. The hotel was in walking distance to The Coliseum. The free breakfast had plenty of hot and cold items. I enjoyed my stay in Charleston.

Don't stay here, the people that work here, up to the "manager" are all crooks. Up to this point, they were clearly avoiding my correspondences. I really think that the front desk was trying to hide it. We were charged an $80 pet fee for staying there for one night, we didn't know until we were at the front desk and checked in. We couldn't back out because the reservation through Expedia was non-refundable. The room was dirty and our bathroom tub was not draining. I couldn't address this upon check-out because we were in a rush to leave that morning so I followed up through phone calls and emails. Three weeks had gone by and still no response. I finally got a hold of the "manager" this morning and she was literally yelling at me and hung up on me mid sentence because I kept finding flaws in what she was telling me about pet fees through Expedia and about how her hotel room's bathtubs were not draining, very disgusting and unsanitary. I can write a whole essay about this in details but I won't. Bottom line, DO not stay here. Staff and management are horrible. They treat you like you're trash that needs to be thrown away. PLUS their rooms are OLD, DIRTY, and bathtubs DO not drain.

Rivers around the building are very scenic. They advertise pet friendly then charge exorbitant extra for pet, exorbitant and not upfront a hidden cost, there statements it was hampton if true Ill do my best to never stay at one again. Pet owners should avoid this crooked hotel expedia should flag it

Staff went overboard to make our stay great.

We stayed at this hotel because it was only a 5-7 minuet walk from the civic center. The hotel staff was all very friendly and always talked to us. It was clean, the room was nice. Only thing I would even think to change is possibly a larger entranceway on the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the hotel. Very small and tight area to try to pull in. Other than that, no complaints

Great location and good all around. The rooms are due for a bit of a refresh, especially the showers, but the place was clean overall. You can’t really hear the interstate traffic in the room, which was one of my concerns. The staff was wonderful and kind.

Great location. We could walk to the concert at the civic center instead of dealing with driving and parking.

The floor hadn't been properly cleaned, popcorn and other snacks all over. A/C unit was loud. Staff didn't seem to care. Very disappointing. Won't stay there again.

Staff very nice and helpful. Beds were creaky, almost sounded broken when moving. Hotel could use a carpet cleaner.

A good hotel, though do check the location works for you. It’s a long walk from the State Capitol and Museums. Very good for the mall and the conference center though. The breakfast was inconsistent- most days very good but first day was a mess.

The front desk clerk was wonderful!! Kind, genuine, helpful, informative! The actual room was not nearly as impressive. The bathroom towel rack was stuck to the wall with command strips and fell down with nothing on it, the walls had mold spots, and a wall patch in the actual room not fully repaired.
