Charming room, hospitable hosts and yummy breakfast: a perfect stay.

The owners were very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. It was an amazing experience.

Such friendly and helpful owners who cooked delicious breakfasts every day that we were there. Of course this is an older historic home so that has its downfalls but overall was a wonderful stay there and nothing that was not manageable. They gave us wonderful advice about getting into the national parks and even made me a lunch one day when I was ill and had to stay back at the hotel by myself. Also had other food options in the refrigerator upstairs in a little eating room that you could make for yourselves. Very nice stay!!

Very quaint. Really enjoyed staying here. The B&B is an old historic building with up to date amenities. The rooms are spacious and clean. The owners are wonderful. Felt like home. Very cozy. Loved it.
Junk yards seem to be standard yard decor in southwest Utah. Smith BB's yard was very well kept. And convenient to Bryce and Zion NP's.

Owners were very accommodating and pleasant.

Great host, comfortable bed & pillow and tasty breakfast. Convenient location between Zion and Bryce Canyon.

This property is not what I consider a bed and breakfast. It doesn’t have the charm our class of a bed and breakfast. It is a converted boarding house that has all rooms on the second floor. There are 17 stairs that you must haul your luggage up. The house were very nice but overall I would never stay there again.
I would not consider this a bed and breakfast. It is a converted boarding house. It doesn’t have the charm of a bed and breakfast. All the rooms are on the second floor. There are 17 stairs to get to your room. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Better not to tell anybody else,
They might disturb the personal atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2-night stay. The house is very well loved and filled with wonderful antiques. The location was great, halfway between Zion and Bryce. My room was delightful. It had everything I needed. But the best part was enjoying breakfast with the hosts, Rochelle and Bunnie. Thank you for a great stay!

The breakfast was very delicious, especially the self-made waffles and pan cake.

Rochel is an amazing host! We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Her neighbor & good friend ”Bunny’ joined us for breakfast and the two of them are a delight! We loved our stay. I saw someone complain it was ‘dated’, but that is essence of the charm of Smith B&B. You step back in time which is a wonderful break from the monotony of high tech and contemporary. Also Rochel maintains all the grounds and they are beautiful…flowers and fruit trees and hummingbirds! A little garden of eden in the desert! Glad we stayed at Smith B& B.

The place was very nice and quaint. I would absolutely stay here again. There was plenty of parking available as well as a few chairs to sit outside and enjoy the crisp evenings. The cat was a surprise bonus :) Make sure to say Hi to him. Plenty of blankets available on those chilly nights. Conveniently located in between Zion and Bryce. We were able to go to both parks no problem. Make sure you check out options of where to eat before you get here. There are not a lot of options. We did find a nice place about 5 miles off the road going to Zion that was perfect. Thanks for having us :)

We stayed for only one night on our way from Zion to Bryce Canyon. It's a historic building, so naturally the room isn't brand new, and instead has a very homely feeling to it. Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and fun and the service provided was fantastic. Overall, the Historic Smith Hotel B & B is a real hidden gem in the 'wilderness'.

We spent three nights at the hotel with Rochelle. It was totally enjoyable and would do it all over again. The breakfast was delicious Do yo especially the Alaska 1 o’clock waffles. Our conversations her and Bunnie at breakfast was very enjoyable.

We stayed there for two nights, it was the perfect position between Bryce and Zion parks. The hotel is in a historical building, a lovely place.
Meeting the host was a true pleasure, we had lovely and delicious homemade breakfasts chatting with her and the other guests.
The room was tidy and clean with everything you need.
Absolutely recommended!
Ps: in Mt Carmel Junction, ten minutes drive from the hotel, there's a typical diner (Thunderbird) where we had dinner during the stay, recommended!

Great little B AND B. Great place in between Zion and Bryce parks. Hosts were great. Breakfasts were really good. Slept with the window open and a nice cool breeze. Would recommend and stay there again no question. Only negative was not allot of restaurants nearby. But there are at Zion.

Stopped in for a two-night stay between park days in Bryce and Zion. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. As other reviewers mentioned, there is a lack of food nearby so plan ahead but if you can get past that it’s a much more unique stay than a city hotel. We enjoyed breakfast with Rochelle on one day and received grab and go options for our early day in the park. We appreciate the hospitality!

Rochelle was a fantastic host. Her breakfasts were great and we enjoyed talking with her and the other guests during breakfast. Our room was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed watching a nesting swallow outside our bedroom window and the hummingbirds on the front porch. This place is a bird paradise! We loved sitting in the backyard looking over the mountains. Our room was pet friendly and Rochelle allowed us to use her dog's huge fenced in area for our little dogs. They had a blast! We'd stay at the Smith Hotel again if we travel that way.

If your looking for luxury, this isn't for you. However, the B&B was comfortable and clean, the service excellent, and the hosts very accommodating. It is an old historic building, good WIFI, and modernized just enough to keep the historic flavor. It was surprisingly quiet for being so near the highway. Breakfast was very good, Rochelle is an excellent host and a good source of local knowledge. If you need an elevator this would not be a choice for you. Limited restaurants nearby for dinner, but Wild Thyme Café in Kanab is an excellent choice.

We loved the historic nature of the home, and the quaint manner in which it is maintained. Rochelle was a wonderful host; friendly, helpful and gracious. We can't say enough of how much we loved staying there. We'd stay again if in the area, and will definitely recommend it to friends who may be visiting sites in the area.
A great experience all around!

Rochelle was an amazing host and we enjoyed our stay at the Historic Smith B&B
We ventured to both Zion and Bryce Canyon and it was a great base.
Breakfast every day was a wonderful start and I’d heartily recommend staying here.
The picture is a view from the balcony attached to the room.

Rochelle efficiently handled out arrival and provided us with breakfast choices.
I enjoyed this lovely, historic, yet most comfortable stay.

Cute property, comfortable bed, no air conditioning unlike advertised. Had to sleep with windows open on top of covers with road noise, took hours to cool off. Sack breakfast that consisted of a granola bar, orange and a muffin.Milk and juice. Cereal on back porch. Apparently she would provide breakfast if you let her know in advance.

This is a very quaint and unique B&B in small town UT on the way to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. The room and bath were clean. The entire B&B is full of interesting antiques and memorabilia. The hostess was warm and very interesting. We enjoyed our waffles in the dining room looking at all of the humming birds at the various feeders. A wonderful experience.

Unique was that it is a historic building and had wonderful appreciative hosts. We enjoyed the conversations at breakfast immensely. The garden and pond were beautiful, lots of flowers and hummingbirds.

Our host R was wonderful, my friend and I came super late to the hotel and our host left some snacks in our room, since we didn’t have anything to eat around the area, she made sure we had something to eat after a long day.
Breakfast was amazing, the French toast she makes, it’s to die for ❤️We had a great experience at this hotel with R and her husband. This hotel is about an hour from Zion and an hour from Bryce, super convenient:)
Thanks R for hosting us!

This was such a great and fun place to stay. So beautifully decorated and maintained.
Rochelle was amazing to meet and talk with and our family including our 2yo and 4yo boys absolutely loved having homemade family recipe from Sitka, AK, waffles for breakfast with her.
I highly recommend staying here, it is a great location, located between and not too far from Bryce Canyon National Park or Zion National Park. Could serve well as a central location while visiting and exploring both parks.
We will stay here again in the future. 😍
