Lovely quant little place, so cosy and everything there that was needed + more. Very comfy bed and an ability to look up at the stars.Nice gift of a cake and milk.
Lovely little courtyard but such a shame about all the weeds in the gravel and pots + some debris next to the sheds.

La casa si trova in una posizione molto comoda come punto d’appoggio per visitare il North Yorkshire. La zona è bellissima, con molti luoghi interessanti da raggiungere facilmente e diversi paesini molto caratteristici nei dintorni.
La casa in sé è molto carina e piacevole, con un bel giardinetto privato dove è possibile stare all’aperto in tranquillità. Il bagno è molto grande e la doccia è spaziosa e comoda. Anche la cucina è ben attrezzata e abbiamo apprezzato molto la presenza della lavastoviglie.
Abbiamo inoltre apprezzato molto il piccolo pensiero che ci è stato lasciato al nostro arrivo: un pane tipico dello Yorkshire, accompagnato dalle tazze da tè. È stato un gesto davvero carino e ci ha fatto molto piacere.
Purtroppo, però, alcuni dettagli relativi alla pulizia e alla cura della casa ci hanno lasciato un po’ perplessi. Abbiamo trovato alcuni piatti e utensili della cucina sporchi, probabilmente riposti così dagli ospiti precedenti. Anche il frigorifero non era stato pulito accuratamente, mentre il freezer era completamente pieno di ghiaccio e avrebbe avuto bisogno di essere sbrinato prima del nostro arrivo, rendendone piuttosto difficile l’utilizzo. Gli asciugamani, inoltre, erano piuttosto lisi e uno presentava anche una macchia: sarebbe sicuramente il momento di sostituirli.
Nel complesso, la casa è molto bella e avrebbe tutte le caratteristiche per essere davvero eccellente, ma si nota una certa mancanza di attenzione ai piccoli dettagli, probabilmente legata al fatto che la gestione non sia direttamente dei proprietari. Con una maggiore cura della pulizia, della manutenzione e del controllo finale prima dell’arrivo degli ospiti, il soggiorno sarebbe decisamente più confortevole.

Extremely charming cottage in an equally charming part of the North York Moors. The space was the perfect size with all appropriate amenities. We appreciated the tea, coffee and cake on arrival. The property was easily accessible, clean, tidy, and the perfect treat. Head out into the village and you will be received cheerfully, whilst finding all the essentials and more in the local shops. York, Scarborough and Whitby are just over 30 mins away. Closer to the cottage you can enjoy Helmsley, Pickering, Hutton le Hole, Castle Howard, Yorkshire Lavender, and a number of walks and hikes.
Hardly anything, and this is being extremely picky. One of the bedroom skylights isn't fitted with a blind so light will leak in, in the early morning. The patio door has a gap when closed which may let in an extra draught.
