We have stayed at the MW in the past. The rennovated lobby was handsome but very dark. We missed the complimentary breakfast that previously was included in your stay. The beds are very comfortable and rooms clean and tidy. It’s also so convenient to be within walking distance to wineries, shops and restaurants!

We’ve stayed here many times. New owners took over last year. They eliminated the breakfast buffet that had previously been included with the room. They painted the lobby an extremely dark color so the beautiful woodwork and architectural details of the lobby cannot be seen. Walking into the lobby is like walking into an underground tomb. It is so dark. Rooms have been updated but painted in very dark colors. Our bathroom sink had hair and dirt in it when we first arrived in our room.

We liked the place very much, except for two things. First, there was a lot of construction going on in our wing. That, coupled with the fact that there is only one elevator in the west wing, meant that it was tough to get an elevator. We took stairs a lot. The designers of the new wing choose to put in a single elevator for probably 80 guest rooms (guessing), housekeeping and utility use. Bad choice. Also, the room in the new wing was rather small... a standard featureless USA modern hotel room. But the main lobby is beautiful and the people were very nice. Great location too. We like Walla Walla.

We stayed in the newer wing which is being renovated. Our rooms were seemingly newly refurbished AND were still off-gassing carpet and materials smells. Fans were running in the hallways to ventilate the space. The new rooms are nicely appointed and include pour over coffee setups. Once the paint dries, these rooms will be very nice. Service was less sparkly. The front desk was slightly chaotic and check in took longer than usual. In the bar, the service was similarly chaotic. Despite a number of servers, we struggled to get served correctly. Items and requests were overlooked or forgotten. They comped our drinks and acknowledged their struggles, but it left a lot to be desired, considering the prices and setting. We’ll likely return, but this wasn’t their best showing.

We stayed in a tower suite at this beautiful, historic hotel. Very nice to have a bedroom and a sitting room but the furniture and bathroom fixtures are looking a bit tired. Bed was very comfortable and enjoyed the big bathroom/shower. Rooms do have mini fridges, but no microwaves to heat up a cup of coffee or the wonderful leftovers from terrific Walla Walla restaurants. LOVED lingering in the historic lobby by the fireplace and the front desk staff was very personable.
