A small lovely older property on the quiet edge of the French quarter. It was very centrally located. Just a few blocks away from the French market as well as restaurants and bars as well as Bourbon Street. Close to the action but far enough away to not be disturbed by the partying. Their ads state that there is a restaurant and bar both of which were not operationa. . Stafl,so no room service

Le Richelieu is a great hotel near the Esplanade, friendly staff, and close to Frenchman St. and the Jazz Museum. Cafe Amelie has fabulous brunch nearby (get a reservation), Verti Marte is a couple blocks away, and Zhang Bistro has some amazing fusion eats. We enjoyed the charming building and the balcony. We even watched a 2nd Line marching band parade from the balcony! NOLA is a magical place, staying at Le Richelieu elevates the experience.

Our favorite place to stay in NO. Simple, no frills but superior location, terrific staff, very nice bedding, not noisy, quick walk to Frenchman Street for the best music in the city. We love the LeRichelieu!

This is a good choice if you want to be near Frenchman St. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are big and clean. They need to add mini fridges to the rooms.

The new facility lacks the old character of the old facility. Rooms lack furniture and microwave. was not notified bar and restaurant not available. Just felt I was at a Discount type hotel. Do not like how the hotel handles money. The holding of the $50. perday extra did not make since to me. If u want more money per day put it in the rate. I have over 20 plus of history there and this first time I felt was in the wrong place. Not impressed with new owners.

A favorite hotel recently reopened with a much needed upgrade. All rooms updated and modern, but the hotel itself maintained that old NOLA feel. Restuarant and Bar were not yet open, and the pool area needs some TLC. Staff were great, location is perfect, very quiet area and only blocks from Frenchmen Street where all the best music plays.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Richelieu. The hotel is a short walk from the French Quarter and just a block away from a coffee shop. We reserved a balcony room (which is a shared balcony) and we enjoyed having the option to sit outside. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. One thing to note is if you want to try checking in early it’s a $25 charge. Overall we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return!

The hotel was two short blocks from the French Market in the French Quarter. The neighborhood was quiet and the rooms were large. Would stay there again.

The location is excellent, away from hustle and bustle, but only a short walk to all the excitement of NOLA. Hotel and rooms were clean. My only downside is the walls are thin and you can hear noise from other rooms and hallway. However I would still recommend for comfort and value.

I found the staff very attentive throughout my stay. The room was spacious as was the bathroom/shower room. Amenities in the room basic, just a safe, tv and coffee machine. Air conditioning and ceiling fan useful too. Ample pillows and towels, the towels changed daily. A fridge would have been advantageous. As my room faced onto the road it was quite noisy at night, in addition Freight train hooters were heard constantly throughout the night too. However, the cleanliness of the room was far from good. The wooden floor clearly had not been swept or vacuumed for some time. There was debris and dust together with toe nail clippings around the bed- disgusting! I advised the reception staff, said they would pass onto housekeeping - NO ACTION. Advised reception for a second time - NO ACTION. I returned to Tyler at reception and he was very apologetic. He even offered to come and sweep the floor himself. I declined his offer as I was leaving the following day. A very basic hygiene task to sweep or vacuum and mop the floor with HOT water would have resolved this issue. I would recommend anyone planning to stay there to take house shoes and avoid walking bare foot on the floor.

Being in the French District of NOLA, it was convenient walking to all the local sights. Hotel was nice but rooms we not very quiet, probably the old shutter like windows on the street side, then noisy bumpy streets, not very sealed doors, thin walls? Remember, this is NOLA, so there's no quiet hour there. If you need quiet, look for a high rise hotel over on Canal street. Parking was expensive but you had a secure gated lot and clicker to open/close. Persons at reception were polite and helpful. Their lounge was closed for some reason. It would be a nice feature to relax in. The pool it heated but weather was not good when we visited.

It is a beautiful hotel in a great location at the far end of the French Quarter. The interiors are very sparse..need some color and warmth...as does the water heater. The staff are great.Special thanks to Tyler for taking great care of me!

earlier stays included early morning coffee in the lobby. The bar being closed was both a big disappointment and an inconvienience because there was no rest room available in the lobby area. The rooms felt only partially furnished (no mirror outside of the one in the bathroom. But I'm very glad you are back!

Staff was very friendly. Room is large with basic necessities. Room needs a refrigerator and microwave (in room or available on each floor). Walls are a bit thin as you can hear what’s going on in other rooms. Location is in walking distance to Boubon street, Freeman street and alot of attractions downtown.

Renovated room was very nice and spacious with comfortable bed. Very nice bathroom and shower. In walking distance to many restaurants and entertainment. Would have given five stars but for the lack of mini fridge and microwave. I knew that going in and thought I could make do but that wasn't the case. Sadly I would not book this hotel again for that reason.

The hotel is newly renovated, rooms are large, furnishings are simple and minimal. There is no microwave or refrigerator in room; but there is a safe, hairdryer, ironing board and iron. There are always water bottles available in the lobby. Location is quiet and central to Bourbon Street, Frenchmen's Street, the french market, the street car stop and much more. Staff went out of there way to be helpful and accommodating.

Staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. With a few additions the property would be great. Adding a refrigerator and microwave would be great. Having a lounge would improve the comfort of traveling in a group. It’s nice to have someplace on the property to meet other than in the room. The walls are very thin, you can hear everything in accompanying rooms.

It was very noisy because there were no rugs on the wood floors in the rooms or hallways and no insulation between rooms. We were given a room with an adjoining door, which had a 1 inch gap at the bottom. Normal conversations sounded like they were in the same room right next to you. TV, loud conversations and arguments were even worse, especially at 2 or 3 AM.

• Husband made reservation for wife & companion and called Hotel Le Richilieu (HLR) directly to ask about cc charges at checkin. Hotel staff responded cc would not be charged until checkout. CC was charged full stay + parking charge. • Text message to open room door was sent to husband, not to guest. No instructions were given to guest at checkin. A male, dark haired staff member worked to help resolve issue and allow guest digital entry to room. • There were no instructions in room about digital thermostat for room HVAC. • Sounds from adjoining rooms were very noticeable. Room had no carpeting and thin walls. • Called front desk night of 10/31 reporting clattering outside of window. Front desk response: It is probably something from next door. It is so dark, we will check it out during daylight. Better response: We will check into it and get back to you. • Guest reported on Tuesday (10/31) regarding loud activity by guests returning to rooms at 2 am the night before (10/30). Noise was more subdued thereafter. • Last night (11/1), ice machine on 4th floor did not produce enough ice. Guest reported issue to front desk. Front desk response: You are the only one using it so we didn’t know. Referred guest to lower floor ice machine. • Upon c/o(11/2), guest noticed gutters outside room window & noted such to front desk, as possible source of clattering reported earlier. Front desk response: Oh, we don’t have gutters. Guest shrugged, completed c/o and vowed never to return to HLR
