I have stayed here several times before and have always been very pleased. This time I booked the cozy double. There is very little space between the end of the bed and the wall but other than that there is plenty of room to get dressed etc. it is very clean. The other times I have stayed in different rooms which were much bigger.

Great hotel , fantastic staff on reception and dining room . Food was very good too . Stayed for three nights . One slight moan was the noise from the main road , could do with better soundproofing in road facing rooms . Fortunately I packed earplugs .

The hotel is comfortable enough to stay a few nights in. However, the food is very overpriced and to be honest not that nice. We had a party of 8 people, a burger was £16 and it contained a piece of chicken and a bit of tomato, lettuce and cheese. Burgerking would have sold it for around £5. I had Lasagna, which was good on top as it was covered in melted cheese, but the mince underneath was a bit dry. I unfortunately chose to have a carvery the next day as we were going to a function and needed lunch before we went. The beef was dry and quite tough, the french beans were hard, the yorkshire puddings I believe were Aunt Bessies as they were like cardboard. Very disappointed. Will stay at the hotel again for a night, but will not have the very overpriced food.

My Wife and I have had a short break away and were greeted by helpful polite staff. We had carvery that evening and it was excellent. Our room was very spacious and very well appointed. We chose to have the buffet breakfast (extra) and it too was fantastic

Staff excellent, efficient and friendly. Meals excellent, well presented and filling. In process of swapping from gas central heating to electric air conditioning, substitute electric heaters worked well, if the thermal cut outs were a little noisy. Bathroom sink cracked but not leaking.

Great location to visit our fiends in Bearwood. Lovely view of river Stour from our window. Great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff x

Great hotel. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating, the room was decent and comfortable. The only downside to our stay was that the heating system had failed and under maintenance. We were given a tiny electric heater which did not give enough heat output. Overall it was still a great experience.

Great hotel and location for a short break. Restaurant very accommodating with dietary issues both at breakfast and evening meal. First visited over 20 years ago and continue to use the hotel when we’re in the area.

It was a nice touch to have 24 hour reception coverage… reassuring should you require anything out of hours. The toilets in the public areas were Spotless, did cheat on occasion and use the Disabled Toilet situated on the Ground Floor as it seemed a Lifetime to go upstairs and along the corridor to the main toilets.

Would have been a very pleasant 2 night stay if it hadn’t have been for the way I was treated at breakfast on the final day. Made to feel very uncomfortable by the head chef ‘Hussain’ I believe is his name, purely because I only wanted coffee and toast, which I had been given without problem the previous morning. The way he made me feel, talked to me and then stood watching me with his arms folded means I will not be returning. Shame because as a family we have used the Bridgehouse on many occasions including hiring out the riverside room. Not in future!

Lovely stay, the staff were all welcoming and pleasant. Just one suggestion, a handle needs to be put on the wall by the bath. When you have a shower it would assist getting in and out of the bath. Other than that is was a lovely stay and food was very good.

The restaurant and service was good. However the skirting boards in our room we're pretty dirty and had not been wiped in a while and there were cobwebs from the headboard of the bed to the wall. There were also a lot of cobwebs between the ceiling and curtain pole. The grouting around the shower was dirty and the bath chipped/marked in a couple of places. The mixer shower knob was also seized.

Lovely staff especially in the restaurant, food was excellent quality & reasonably priced, could not fault. Room comfortable & good size although traffic could be heard through the double glazing as room was at the front on the hotel. Terrace overlooking river was lovely.

Shower was a bit problematic in the room that i booked. I fell in the bath tub cause of soap residue left from the last occupants (tells me it wasn't cleaned properly) left with a sore bum. During shower i realised the problem, blockage down the drain, leaving soap residue once you're finished. I tried my best to rinse it to leave it free of slippery soap residue. At checkout i informed the receptionist about the issue and i hope the next occupants didn't have a similar incident

Stayed here for an early flight from Bournemouth Airport. Didn’t eat here, but the place and the room were great and it was nice to be able to open a window at night - so many hotels have the windows screwed shut these days.

Comfortable room and great dinner as usual. Breakfast was ok. One issue was that Hotels.Com terms were "pay hotel on arrival" however on arrival payment had been charged by the hotel to Hotels.Com and hotel fefused to issue a VAT receipt. Hotels.Com do not issue VAT receipts as they are not UK based. This arrangement is not suutable for VAT reclaim for business use, so I wont be able to use Hotels.Com in future.

The hotel is in good condition, the restaurant / bar was nice, and the staff were friendly & helpful. It would have got a better rating from us if it wasn't for how hot the rooms were when we stayed. We unforunately had rooms which were at the front of the hotel with a lot of road noise. Everything else was good, it was just the combination of the road noise / heat which meant it was uncomfortable with the window closed as it was too hot to sleep, but with the window open to reduce the noise we couldn't sleep due to the road noise.

The property was close to Poole, easy parking outside for disabled guests. The room was easy access for disabled guests but the bathroom, although large was unsafe in shower as it flooded and was very slippery. Grab rails were present and a shower seat but underfoot within the shower posed a danger for unsteady or elderly guests. No shower matt was provided. Staff were pleasant, food was good and the view over the river from the terrace was nice but overgrown. Overall it was disappointing.
