Good location if you have a car to drive, not walkable to anywhere. Excellent accommodations and cleanliness, breakfast is good. Service is good

Pretty good place to stay for the money, some areas need a little Maintenace and to be upgraded. For example i stay in a suite one of the TV’s was very obsolete a square box from the 90’s definitely wasn’t a flat screen TV, plus they should upgrade to smart TV’s as well. Overall for the money does worth it to stay nice secure location. The staff is very friendly definitely will stay again.

There was no hot water in my room. Everything else was okay. I walked to the Hotel Irazu to meet a friend for a lite dinner and retired early.

The property is extremely sterile and appears almost prison like. The front desk staff was fantastic and extremely friendly. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Plaza Real and Suites is not a corporate chain. It is unique because it is a large property but has the atmosphere of a B&B. It has large nicely furnished rooms which are verry comfortable. It is centrally located and close to an entrance of a main artery of the highway systems. You can quickly get to the airport or to the shopping or hospitals of Escazu and Santa Ana and downtown. I could see the national stadium from my window.

The staff was super friendly & accommodating. In a good location, 7 min walk to restaurants, grocery store & ATM. Breakfast was really good in the mornings & very much appreciated. This spot is a hidden gem.

Had to chage rooms because was given wrong room. Restaurant that is close by closes at 3pm although recommended by staff and it was already 3pm. No bus or transsport Service. Although hotel arranged uber they told driver one place and us another. Taxi fro aiport cost. About 90 us ehile uber to airport about 5000 c.

Awesome spot near all the rental car spots in Paseo Colon. I was also lugging 5 bags and the front desk person buzzed me in and helped me without having to dig through my stuff and show my reservation. In fact, he confirmed my stay and identity without me telling him my name!

It's a very quaint, slightly rustic cottage that is simply charming! The management is awesome and quite accomodating to my wheelchair. I highly recommend staying here!!

I was disappointed there was no bottled water and no glasses to take a drink even though I don’t know if the water from the tap can be trusted. I also didn’t feel comfortable with the door lock. Anyone could jimmy the lock and get in. I put a chair under the door knob. Thanks I hope this is helpful

I liked the friendliness of both receptionists. I did not like that the hotel did not have a restaurant available for lunch or dinner, and there were no eating places near walking distance. I left very early and wanted to drink coffee and could not do so because there was no coffee machine in the room. There were no cups either to drink water.

This place was so spacious, and I did not expect how wonderful it was. We got the family suites and there were two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a sofa sleeper bed in its own room. Breakfast was on the fourth floor and it was delicious! I would definitely stay here again, and plan to when I return to San Jose again in the future.

My stay at Hotel Plaza Real was a lovely experience. All of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The suite itself was clean and bigger than I expected. I would definitely stay again.

The property is old and aging poorly. Our room (a junior suite) had two windows, both of which opened into small airshafts, so the rooms were dark. Worst of all, it was damp and mildewy. It felt like we were in a dungeon. The staff were good, and so was the breakfast.

I left something at the hotel after we checked out and when we called they were able to find it and held onto it for me for two days. I can’t express my gratitude enough. Room had AC which was nice. Bed could have used more blankets. Breakfast was great.

The place wasn't super clean and the bed wasn't super comfortable, but the front desk attendant was kind and we were only there for a few hours.

The people are great and very helpful. It’s an older building, but clean and maintained. Walkable to Denny’s or Subway. Only a kilometer from immigration, which is why we chose it. But that is not walkable. Crosses many heavy traffic roads, but taxi is easy . Our only complaint would be the cigarette smoke that wafted into our room several times a day. Since it’s nonsmoking, we assumed it was coming from outside, unless someone was cheating and smelling the place up! It caused our allergies to go crazy. Other than that it was fine.

One night stay. Older hotel. We were given the kitchenette suite due to my husband's need for a refrig and microwave for blending, heating and storing his food. It was fine and spacious, but the kitchen was lacking in some basics that should be there, like dish soap, kitchen towels, basic condiments. The bath was beautiful and very spacious, but again, we were given one bath towel each, no hand towels nor washcloths. However, all that being said, both the desk guy when we arrived and the one the next morning were above and beyond in getting us something to eat when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning. Esp. since breakfast ended at 9am on a Sat. and I did not wake up until 9:15. There was no notice of breakfast hours anywhere and we were under the impression that the restaurant was open for both breakfast and lunch.
