Overall stay was good but overpriced for condition of rooms budget hotel at best... Rooms itself was big but it was not cleaned enough as we found dead insects around the room even in lamp shade and condition of furniture is very dated but hotel in decent location at least

Firstly the name international hotel was nowhere to be seen on arrival as it was called continental hotel!! Was not told that upon signing at the bottom of the check in sheet that any damages would be charged for which is ok if told about and if the room was faultless. On entering the room it was very clear that it was far from this. I took ten pictures of damages to report to reception that I did not want charging for and even after that found that the lights were loose on the wall and the bathroom sink tap was spinning loose. I asked why if they were charging for damage, why aren't they fixing the damage unless it's a money making scheme?? Then we came down to breakfast and was described as a buffet full English but was given a plate of scrambled egg, deep fried mushrooms, deep fried very cheap sausages, deep fried hash browns, and cheap cardboard bacon, I should know because I'm a chef. The rest of the breakfast offer was not great either. I would recommend anyone to stay here and have now decided to stick to well know chain hotels no matter how much more money I need to spend as saving money gives zero satisfaction.

A good place to stay for a short trip to the area. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel room was clean and comfortable but a little dated.

Bed was small and uncomfortable and room very hot even with a fan on and windows open all night.

It was Good the bed was comfortable the room was clean. We enjoy the breakfast each employees had a smile on their face when i saw them. It makes you feel welcome

There was an argument going on in the room above me into the early hours. I got the sense that the people staying above me were residents rather than guests. I got about two hours sleep and then the fire alarm sent off at 3.30 am for about half an hour. There was no fire and it flavoured to have been set off either deliberately or through carelessness. The fireman was rolling his eyes when I asked him in passing. I decided to pack up and drive home at 4am despite the fact that I had taken night sedation. Drove up the motorway for two hours and was back in my own bed by 6.30am.

The front desk was very friendly and accommodating and helped me to get a new room immediately as the tv in my first room wasn't working. Rooms are clean, good size and comfortable for a few nights. Unfortunately there's no restaurants in the close surroundings. But overall I would recommend this place.

Stayed here as it was near to a wedding I was attending and thought it was reasonably priced. I wish I’d have paid the extra and stayed elsewhere. On arrival I noticed letters missing from their sign outside and thought this doesn’t bode well. Reception area was like something out of the shining. I asked was my room ready as I’d arrived an hour before check in and was told it was but to get in I’d need to pay a £10 fee. As the wedding started in an hour I paid the fee as I needed to get ready. I went to the room and noticed it was in poor condition, carpets and lamps were stained, kettle thick with limescale, foot prints on the walls. I informed the receptionist who offered to change my room, the rooms she showed me were no better. So she said I could speak to the owner later that day. I finished getting ready and on my way out I was introduced to the owner, who informed me that as I’d been in the room and got changed in there it was used and he would not issue a refund so I could stay elsewhere, not even a partial one. This was all still before check in time and the cleaning staff were all on site should the room I’d got changed in need a clean… which it didn’t. At this point the room had cost me £82, the Jury’s Inn was still bookable at £110. So to all future travellers avoid unless you have no other option!

There was no where to eat or drink at the hotel, the area was very rough people begging for money on the streets near hotel. The carpark back of hotel very unsecured, we parked in a more secured carpark but had to pay for over night stay. Outside of hotel at the back needs a good tidy up. The lift is very small and would not trust for it to break so we used the stairs. The room was not very clean like i would expect with Covid. The room also smelt of curry has the hotel did there own indian take away. No breakfast was available. Would not stay again.

Room clean and functional, Shower hot and coffee supplied in the room. Issue with door locking mechanism on room 212 - triple single room (temp fix), no bar and no breakfast on request (bar area being renovated). Parking out he back which was convenient too. We cut them some slack as they have just taken over apparently and these things can be easily rectified.

Nice clean room. Site seems to be undergoing some improvement to car park but enough space. We left for dinner & park on return

People at reception we pleasant and polite, the pictures online to advertise the hotel were clearly take at another location as the rooms in hotel were nothing like then, many of the lights in my room never worker and the place could do with a major upgrade, avoid at all cost much better option for not much more, on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a -2

Can hear everything going on in the corridors and the party that is still going on at 1am in the morning that is unbearably loud has meant I’ve had zero sleep so far.

Hotel is nothing like the pictures online, very rundown outside, rooms very dated, pictures online were from many many years ago I’m guessing, room was clean but had a funny smell and furniture very old, outside hotel is so rundown you would think it was closed.

For the price it is clean and tidy. I have stayed in other hotels at a higher price which were not as good. Easy walk into town centre. Property is equipped with surveillance camera. Staff are friendly and helpful. I did not eat at the hotel so no comment on the food.

Good hotel for a 1 night crash - adequately clean and staff were helpful

It was really good, sheets were abit scratchy but all in all it was really nice

A little worried on arrival due to the outside looking tired, however it was on a decent road so gave it a go. We were warmly greeted on reception by a lovely gent who explained they have recently taken over the hotel and are refurbing- you can see they have started in the reception and improving the car park. Great to have free WiFi codes given to us. We were taken up a Warren or corridors (maybe not so good if you have little ones) our kids are 10 and 13- so no worries for us. Our room was in the very top back corner. Fantastic views over the city- lovely large room- and the reason I choose this hotel- two proper single beds for our girls (they are far to big to share a sofa bed now!!) The room was spotless, plenty of tea/coffee etc and toiletries. Yes, this is a work in progress, but was super value for money and gave us everything we needed for a stopover. We will look forward to going back and seeing the renovations progressing :)

One night just to crash was just about OK. It was cheap and cheerful. I would never go back though

Although old and the hotel being midst renovation the room was spotless. Looking forward to seeing the end result and you can see the standard the management are hoping to achieve. We were in 206. Only downside with our room was the lighting from the outside emergency exits so a black out curtain would be a great idea (and air con). Not sure if I would stay again with my little one though unless in winter where window can be shut, it was very noisy with other adult guests making up for lost romance and having the window open meant hearing a lot of noises. But that's not the hotels fault. Staff were great and nothing was any trouble. Easy to find. Parking was daunting as on a slope but was ok once in car park and I was offered the opportunity to move it to the front of the hotel. Nice new shower and bathroom furniture. There was another couple with child attending a wedding. So i feel this could be a family hotel and their presence made me feel a little less anxious. My daughter loved it! Hotel is huge, would be great to see what its history was. It has great potential and I wish the team all the best.

The staff were very warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms were basic but clean, they were very warm and stuffy, but there was a fan in the room ready which helped! Beds were comfortable. The rooms are a bit outdated but we do know they are undergoing changes now due to new ownership. Unfortunately the let down was that the walls are very thin which made for a not so great sleep, it was very noisy but that may be a reflection of the other guests more than the hotel itself. Great location to town center, 5mins taxi or 15mins walking. Covid secure with sanitizer throughout public areas and masks to be worn in those areas aw well. Restaurant closed due to refurbishment but offered takeaway service or allowed deliveries from Just Eat etc.
