Incredible property.

Beautiful resort! Amazing location and super friendly staff. Great for couples, not for families so much.

Nice spot. Having to valet the car constantly does get annoying when youre on an island that you really need a car for
Expensive, but to be expected

Excellent location, great staff, well appointed rooms. Would go back in a heartbeat.

A nice little enclave, great for rest and recuperation...

Beautiful property. I liked how it felt a bit smaller than some other resorts, but you don’t feel confined. The food and drinks were great. Everything at the resort was clean and well taken care of. All of the room amenities felt brand new and fresh. The housekeeping was wonderful and everything felt put together right in our room. Everyone was helpful and kind to us. We even enjoyed the lei making class offered.
My only complaint would be their description of “ocean view“ might be a bit different than mine. I would have only called my room partial at the very best.

Wonderful relaxing, quiet hotel.
Only downfall is the grass area should have umbrellas, as the pool area is small to sit around
Cannot wait to come back

Perfect place for an intimate honeymoon on Kauai. Everything is made easy. Poipu beach is a short walk away and the staff are amazing.

This was by far the most beautiful resort my spouse and I have ever stayed at. The staff was so accommodating and nice to us and our room was incredible. We had an amazing oceanfront view from our room and had a lanai. We will definitely return!

Very convenient hotel with easy access to beach, shopping and restaurants.

This was the perfect resort for us. It’s not too crowded, yet very close to some of the best snorkeling around. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were so clean and had everything you could ever want. Quiet and calming spot. Would come back again.

Looks very nice on the surface but extremely unsanitary and not a very convenient location especially if you want to be walkable to things. There are no sidewalks and the walkable part of the beach is about 1/4 mile. More importantly,
- the hotel does not use fitted sheets and the mattress protector does not fit on the beds so you wake up on a bare (and stained) mattress no matter how much you try to make the bed beforehand
- The comforters do not have duvet covers. Instead, they’re sandwiches between two top sheets which of course do not stay put and probably explains why the comforters are very stained
- There was a lizard in our room, explained by there being a gap at the bottom of the door which opens to outside
- There was a black scorpion on our balcony
- Very few dining options available that are walkable or open early, which means lines at the few available ones are very long
- Because everything is so inconvenient, they’re able to price gauge you by charging $60 for a burger at the pool
Can’t say I recommend…

The view is great from the hotel. Hotel staffs are nice and helpful.

Staff and rooms were awesome. Beautiful location with the beach right there to snorkel or swim anytime. Red salt restaurant was fantastic! Little on the pricey side but definitely worth it!

Too expensive for not that much luxury. Restaurant was way over priced for the quality of the food. Other than beautiful leis at arrival very few niceties. Big contrast to the Fairmont in Maui where we recently stayed.

Loved everything about this property. Was so sad to leave. The setting right in the ocean, the facilities, the attention to detail in the rooms, the luxuries like large bath sheets instead of regular towels, 2 shower heads, the waterproof bracelet keys so you didn’t have to fumble around to find your key ever, the Red Salt restaurant with the incredible pineapple soufflé pancake breakfast, the cocktails at the pool bar, the friendly and accommodating staff, the nespresso maker in the room; etc it was all outstanding! 💖

Gorgeous, clean and quiet property. Special shout out to Traci and Hunter at the front desk, who went above and beyond.

A nice average hotel. They like to use the word luxury quite often but to us the only thing luxury were the prices. Marketed as quiet and intimate but was just small and still full of noisy kids. Not all rooms in the same category have same view. Staff is hit or miss some were absolutely amazing and some were incredibly bothered by having to do their job, particularly the valet who also had to handle the luggage which is also another drawback as valet is the only parking option at $35 a night coupled with a $45 resort fee daily that provides pretty much nothing as the on property activity amenities are 3rd party and was another $120 for the week for 2 sets of snorkeling gear. I geel like there are a lot of other better priced options in the area for what youre actually getting.

Very quiet, primarily Adults, no screaming kids.
Thought we'd try a package w/Expedia and thought we booked a partial ocean view room. Got a "garden" view (which was a fence and looking at another building) 😜. Nothing that another $1-200 upgrade won't fix however. Resort fee is $45 (not included in Expedia "package price) and parking is $35 also not included in "package price." Restaurant (Red Salt) was nice, got a $45 lamb chop dinner that costs $85. and a $20 btl of wine that was $66. Paradise is not cheap. Restaurant charged $10 to split a $19 salad and had to get up for salt and pepper. Since we were celebrating 50th, we did get a "happy anniversary" and front desk did give us 2-chocolates which were outstanding and a couple of Mai-Tai's.
Property was very well kept but felt we were nickel & dimed.

Ko’a Kea is a small quiet resort on Kauai. If you are looking for a wonderful escape from the city, this is your place. The staff is exceptional and the dining “Red Salt” was out of this world! Ko’a Kea was just what my wife and I needed . A semi private weekend escape to relax, a romantic dinner and accommodations that rival any on island. Thanks James and HaiQi

Everyone was just wonderful during our stay. I will stay here again. Also, less crowded then the other resorts in the area.

Lackluster for a honeymoon resort stay.. Had to switch room, ac was broken and noisy so it kept us up and made the bedding wet and gross from condensation. Second room was also just okay, layout offers minimal privacy on first floor if you have a pool facing room. Tile in showers in both rooms were grossly stained yellow, its call grout cleaner/sealer guys.. you have white marble it stains easier also. They do not freshen up rooms between days at all unless you request it I suppose. They charge you for every little thing, beware of hidden fees, I had a $650 bill at checkout after pre paying through expedia. $45/night resort fee for wifi basically, $25/night to park a rental car, they only have valet who expect a tip every time you want to use your vehicle. The bartender at the pool straight up stole $40 in cash from me and still charged those two drinks to my room, which added to that bill, at checkout they refused to take it off. Basically all of Kauai felt like everyone tried to suck you dry and nickel and dime you. The Red Salt restaurant in the resort is grossly overpriced, service was slow, cook was slower, cost $300 for dinner for two and took almost two hours to get our entree. This resort is not directly on the beach, you have to walk a few minutes to get there through another crowded Marriott resort. Maui was more fun, the Big Island was more private and less expensive. Only saving grace of this island was the view if the Waimea Grand Canyon.

Peaceful and not over-crowded. Staff in all areas were great

This place completely changes the game for staying on Kauai. With multiple beaches to walk to- one being the popular Poipu Beach, where many a wildlife frequent. From room cleanliness to dreamy views, this place is a must stay.

A great “boutique style” property. It was not crowded in mid May. The staff were all pleasant and kept the rooms and grounds neat. The meals at the hotels “Red Salt” restaurant were excellent, as were meals in room and pool side choices. Plenty of other restaurants nearby. Great choice for couples. No activities for children less that high school age.

If you can - stay here! Ko'a Kea Resort is fantastic. The staff is extremely kind and go above and beyond. The location was unreal, right on the beach with the best snorkeling we experienced on the island. We were blown away by our room! Best experience we could ask for. We are ready to return :)

We loved this boutique style hotel vibe here!
The property was centrally located to all of what we wanted to do and the walking trails helped us stay up on our exercise. We walked about 4 miles every morning! I had one of the best massages in my life in the spa and my and my masseuse, Robin was super knowledgeable & educational about the body and helped me with some tips for after my massage.
The quietness of the location made it easy to relax by fire pits after dinner and sleep in our rooms.
We will definitely be back!
