As of June '26, the hotel is very newly refurbished (ongoing in some areas). The room was immaculatly clean and spacious, bedding very comfortable. The hotel is easy walking distance to NEC halls, and not far to the train station and airport, but tucked away so quieter than many other hotels on the campus, which we liked. There were only a few disappointments: on arrival we were told a "plumbing problem" meant our room was unavailable so we were sent to the nearby Ibis hotel for the first night of our two night stay, which was a significant downgrade and no compensation was offered for this. We then received contradictory information about whether a room would be available the following night (in the end, it was). All the staff were polite (with one exception of the lady who answered the phone on the first night), though they did all seem uniformly exhausted and worn down. The second disappointment was the buffet breakfast. While the food itself was adequate, they either didn't have enough staff on shift, or good enough procedures in place to keep everything stocked up and there were guests regularly waiting for clean cups/plates/replenished food items. Ironically, the breakfast we had at the Ibis on our first day was far superior. I expect as the refurbishment is concluded and staff/systems settle in this will become a 'great' hotel. For our stay, however, it was just 'good'.

We had a great stay here on a busy weekend with lots of guests because of an event at the NEC! Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, our room was wonderful and we were very thankful for the AC! Great location for walking to the NEC, and very quiet away from the main thoroughfare
