The property is directly across the street from Parque Berrio and Botero Plaza. The room was clean and had a safe. I never saw any roaches in my room. I felt 100% safe in the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Shower has hot and cold water and the property has an elevator.
Free breakfast is average at best. Hotel is guest friendly. Surrounding area may not be safe to walk late at night. Depends on your comfort level. I definitely would not display jewelry at night or use your cell phone near people.
I have stayed at Hotel Nutibara 4 times in the past year. It’s an excellent value for the money and would highly recommend. It’s located downtown. The other guests appear to be honest and decent people. The surrounding area has a big city/inner city vibe. Plenty of good coffee shops nearby. Cafe Uincluye, Nativos Cafe and Cafe Frutal are excellent!
The property has a coffee shop/restaurant on the 3rd floor and you can eat on a balcony overlooking a beautiful church in Botero plaza. Also every day, there is several small restaurants on the first floor that serve traditional Colombian meals. A complete meal is approximately 5 or 6 dollars US.
I will not hesitate to stay here again!

Nice Hotel in the absolute center of Medellin. Clean, big room with everything you need. Very helpful staff. Some people might have problems with the area, due to the high number of homeless and people on drugs, though. Nothing what the hotel can change.
