To much noise for the construction and not enough information about things we allow to do

Resort is huge, lots of stuffs to do, food needs improvement, they need a different system to make reservations to the restaurants, some staff members needed more training on customer service.

The resort itself is nice. Very tropical with a lot of animals around the property. The rooms are a bit outdated but I liked the penthouse room with jacuzzi.
All the restaurants require a reservation for lunch and dinner which you have to make through an app. The app was malfunctioning so it was very difficult to make reservations and the staff was not willing to help until I asked to speak with a manager and only then was assisted. The very huge downside for me was the beach. The beach is very rocky so it was literally impossible to safely get into the water without scratching your legs. I wish this was disclosed initially. There were a lot of people selling stuff and walking through the beach. Overall I would come back here if not considering the beach, because of the rocky beach I wouldn’t recommend coming here especially with kids.

We were pretty disappointed with the service and food options at this resort. Reservations were difficult to make at the restaurants and the buffet food was subpar. Service for drinks at the pools stopped at 5 pm and was so sporadic that we started ordering two drinks at a time when we would see the staff. The resort itself is very tropical and beautiful vegetation all around and coati, monkeys, cats, and raccoons. The room was comfortable but the shower was a bit small.

The hotel was beautiful the staff and the animals are amazing just need to work with the food more variety and not to be close at 11pm is all includied and you are expecting food or snack any time The rest is amazing I definitely come back

The swim up bar is at the family pool, not the adult only pool and the adult only pool closes at 10pm. Only stock the fridge every other day.

The older guy who checked us in at the select club was terrible and seems like he doesn’t know his job at all. Never activated our room bracelets, failed to check us in properly and then intentionally held us up six days later during check out and had us almost miss our flights. Between the pushy time share sales people at the front and our horrible check in and out and the old dated rooms this is a zero star for me! Don’t waste your time or money here! And good luck if you do!

Very nice place to relax. Super friendly staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxing and the staff was outstanding. I read reviews and was concerned about the dining options, but we found Los Lirios, Brazil and La Toscana to be very good. The conceierge helped us make reservations. The beach was not as I had hoped but the views were spectacular. Be prepared to walk! It is quite spread out but there is so much to explore, the wild animals were the best part. Our room was awesome and it overlooked the jungle which enhanced the whole experience. We had a hot tub on the patio but it was not working so it defeated the purpose of getting that room but we still spent time on the terrace enjoying the birds. There was construction going on the whole time which was annoying but we could not hear it in the room. We spent most of the time at the adult only pool which was great and the drinks kept coming! We would definitely visit again. If you are not planning to buy a time share do yourself a favor and be firm when you say no. A great first time trip to Mexico and we look forward to going back.

My review of the resort: Upon arrival, I was filled with anticipation as the resort appeared beautiful and perfect for a nature retreat. I reserved the adults-only "select club" for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary in a serene environment. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of our expectations as we encountered a number of inconveniences. While the food was decent, obtaining adult beverages was only possible in the general area and until midnight. Moreover, the pool designated for adults closed early at 8 PM, and no alcoholic beverages were available after that time in the adult-only section. Essentially, after 8 PM, the adults' area was closed except for sleeping, and we were forced to spend our evenings in the general area with families and children. To add to our disappointment, room service was not reliable, with only one of the three times we ordered being fulfilled in a timely manner and arriving cold. The theatre events were also not that great, with long wait times, telling us events started at X time but didn’t, causing disinterested crowds. Despite my best efforts to love/enjoy the resort, I found myself disappointed and questioning the value of the thousands of dollars spent on our anniversary trip. My star rating for the resort plummeted each day of our stay. Upon arrival, you are met with an employee who will walk you around and try to talk you into joining their elite club. Based on how my stay was, I’m glad I didn’t follow through with it. As a

Second time visiting. Beautiful, clean property and very friendly staff. Food has gone downhill in 6yrs, maybe because of Covid. The Mexican buffet is great and the Brazil restaurant (Adults only).

The staff were friendly, personable, and knowledgeable, while the drinks were delicious. No complaints to speak of, see you next time!

my room had a smell in it and it hit you the moment you walked into the room !!
I’ll guess because of the trees wetlands lack of sunlight ( I was on the ground floor ) made our room smell moldy, old.
The smell clung to all and every one
Of the items I had bought with me !
I had to dry clean, wash every single item , air it out then sprayed lysol all over everything I had with me in MY ROOM, but it still smells !
Other then that I give it an A or a 9 rating

The hotel needs some minor repairs and updating but from what we experienced is otherwise clean and in good working order. My only real complaint about the room was it needed better lighting in the bathroom.
The grounds are beautiful. We stayed at a Sandos in Cabo and loved the property and appreciated their commitment to the environment. It’s part of the reason we booked with them again.
You make all your reservations thru their app. Ours wasn’t working at first but we got it sorted out. The food is hit and miss. We really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant, Los Lirios and the Brazilian. A word of warning about the Brazilian - wear bug spray. Mosquitos love us and we were not prepared.
We chose to stay in the adult section and we don’t regret it. Our check in was done there, we appreciated the air conditioned space and drinks after travelling. The adult only pool is bigger and tamer than the main pool which is also the only swim up bar. We went one afternoon, we had fun but once was enough. We had no problem getting our own drinks if the server wasn’t around.
This is a great resort if you prefer to stay on the property. There’s really no reason for you to leave. There are ruins, cenotes, river cruise, a small zoo-like space, beach, spa, entertainment, water slides, you can even rent bikes.
If we were to go back we would bring our kids, otherwise we would choose to go somewhere else as a couple. It’s was a little too big for us, but all-in-all we had a great vacation.

The only thing I did not like was that the beach is not accessible

Hotel grounds were beautiful. Cleanliness was ok, room was a little sour. Could not turn the ac off or up so room stayed too cold.

The policy of the pool towel. If you lost your towel or do not return the towel. You have to pay $50 for each towel. So some people lost the towel. They will try to steal you.

This was our 4th stay, It’s seems as though things have not completely returned to normal after covid at this location. Staff was much scare than in previous stays.

I loved the fact that the resort is in the jungle, the wildlife and nature was beautiful!
4.0
I loved the cenotes in side the hotel, and all the animals walking around everywhere. I didn't like that they had like 4 restaurants where you had to make reservations and every time we wanted to reserve it was full. We were only able to eat in the two buffets available at the property.

It was as advertised. Great for large family gatherings especially families with children.

Do yourself a favor and read do not stay here. I was going to write a long review but everyone down below me took the words right out of my mouth. I should of read the reviews before staying here. I will never ever start here or even near this place again. The staff is very disorganized and the food is disgusting. Also you will starve between 4pm and 5:30pm nothing to eat is open.

The setting of this resort is beautiful with lots of greenery and wildlife present all around the resort. The Adults Only section of the beach was excellent, with plenty of cabanas, daybeds, and chairs available. Unfortunately that's where my praise ends. The service was inconsistent, the food was somewhat tolerable but again very inconsistent. The resort seemed understaffed for how booked up it was and while I can understand the stress of that, some staff could not hide their annoyance and the quality of service was sometimes impacted by this. The sheets, while clean looking, did have visible stains that just didn't come out with washing, and there was hair on the pillows upon arrival. Our bathroom shower didn't drain so showers were diminished to 1 minute spurts of water and then waiting for that to drain before turning the water back on, lest the whole bathroom flood. We reported this on the 2nd day of our 7 day stay but it was never addressed. We stayed in the Select Club Adults Only section and had access to the Adults Only pool area. They did an excellent job of keeping children away from the area which was appreciated, but there was no swim up bar, or bar you could access in just a bathing suit, and snacks are not served around the pool. You have to go into the Brazilian restaurant and sit down to eat anything which was mildly disappointing. The resort was frequently out of 1 of the 2 beers they serve. Room service via the Select Club was disappointing.

Horrible food, not adult only, the worst Playa del Carmen experience. CHILDREN EVERYWHERE! No Guacamole because hotel is too cheap!! oversold hotel..Ridiculous lines! Do not waste any money here if you are looking for an adult getaway. Food is horrible and restaurants take a week to get reservations. I have been to area at least 14x so this is my first time. Leaving a review the resort is horrible for adults. The sewage smell pours into the drains after rain. The way we solved this is by adding water in closing the drains, so no sewage smell would come through our drains. Good luck with this hotel.

The property itself was beautiful. There was wildlife all over the resort.
As for everything else, I would never recommend this property to anyone.

To say that our trip was lack lustre would be to say the least.
To begin our check in process was for the most part seamless, however there was very little information about the resort, its layout nor did we get a walk through of the room.
It should also be noted that we paid to be at the adult select resort which we were under the understanding that it was a separate resort away from the family resort. This however was not the case. There is only one adult only restaurant located beside the adult pool, I might add allows children for dinner service. So while you’re enjoying the pool and drinks at 4:30 in the afternoon you now have a gaggle of screaming children lined up beside the pool awaiting seating at the restaurant.
If I had this knowledge I would have not booked this resort to begin with.
We arrived late on the first day and proceeded to the buffet after checkin for dinner service. The buffet food was lukewarm at best and was very unappetizing. If that already wasn’t enough while we were asked to wear masks to protect the food, there were children running everywhere, running into us, grabbing food with the bare hands, and picking cookies off the prepared desserts completely unsupervised.
Unfortunately this review will not allow me to post more than 1500 characters, so I can't finish my review

Great place, awesome people. Will recommended to anyone to visit this resort.

This is NOT an adults only experience. Don't be fooled by it saying adults only. This is a family resort with 1 pool reserved for adults only. Also, good luck eating dinner anywhere other than the buffet. The restaurants don't take reservations, so you wait in line only to be told the seating is full, then everyone left in line races to the next restaurant. We ended up giving up on eating completely one night after trying from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Another night we didn't want to fight it and ordered Doordash (was excited to find it available), but was then scolded by the front desk for not letting them know. They make dinner impossible.

This was not an all inclusive adults only resort. There were children everywhere, including the "area/pool" designated as adults only. When I asked for wine at one of the restaurants, I was asked to pay in cash for it. I asked to have a bottle of wine sent to my room and it took 2 days to be delivered after many requests and then I still couldn't get a corkscrew. The stocked fridge had 3 Dos Equis (the only beer offered) and a couple cokes and sparkling water. For dinner you had to wait in line for 1 of 3 seatings. They do not take reservations. 2 nights in a row we did not eat dinner after waiting for an hour in 1 line only to be turned away, then scrambling with a crowd of other people to another restaurant to wait in line again for another seating, which we didn't make the cut for. It's ridiculous. I will say the breakfast at the only adults only restaurant was good, you just had to make sure the Mexican raccoons didn't jump up on your table and steal your food. Then there's the beach. The beach is pretty until you try to walk into the water. It's all rocks, like big cut your foot rocks, and they go far out into the water where you can't ever enjoy some sand in the water. I stayed in a penthouse suite. The room was very clean. There clearly is a misrepresentation of what all inclusive adults only means
It should say.... If you want a fun family vacation in the jungle full of activities for children but don't want to eat or drink anything, then this is the place!

The hotel was very beautiful the only problem I had was two things. The wifi was very spotty on the resort. The next thing is no hot water. I just wanted a hot shower!

We enjoyed the wildlife just strolling around the property. The jungle around the building is beautiful.

Room wasn’t available for two days. Awful staff

The resort is under staffed. We love the resort and we have vacation at Sandos Caracol 26 times. The staff is doing their best with what they have but we believe the owners need to get involved with the staff and get this resort back when we first visited. We love the resort for the employees, the jungle and the wild life.
