The property is very well kept. From the moment I checked in and left 6 days later, I can say it was very enjoyable. I stayed in the the swim out room, 505. I'm glad I chose that room because it was in the middle of the 7 or 8 swim outs they have. I'm glad I spent a little more because if you stay in the rooms on the lower level, you don't have much of a view until you come up to the main level. The weather was perfect in February with a nice breeze off the ocean. I don't remember everyone's name but Alexis & Roy are the names I remember the most. They were very nice and always came around to make sure I was good. It was a little breezy when I got my massage under the straw hut but it felt great! It made it even more relaxing. They do daily room cleaning, but I didn't want them to clean my room because once I spray the room and beds with Lysol, I don't want to do it again. LOL. I walked/jogged a few days. You have to be careful when you leave out. Once you turn left at the top of the hill, it's very steep going down for about 150 yards, At the bottom of the road if you make a right, you'll run into Margaritaville hotel and restaurant & it's 5 o'clock somewhere restaurant where you can eat, drink and get a good view of the sunset. You'll have access to the beach there and also Vendors selling souvenirs. The Marina del Playa is about 1/2 mile away. You can do a day or night cruise. Hotel is about 1hr 15 mins from airport. $100 for taxi one way. There are other cheaper options.

The place was nice clean the staff was very friendly if you make the stairs down the hill to the beach you will love the beach is really private not one is there really clean but you will have to go up the stairs and that is a work out

Rooms were a bed and a table. Not as pictured. Breakfast is beans and rice and scrambled eggs. Everyday… 10 days. Frustrating when they forget toilet paper, or to put garbage bags in baskets… the construction on site … bang bang. We didn’t have a working TV , when we said something she just left us. We got it last day… we would not recommend or return. Walls in the rooms were bare it was walking into a cell. They let anyone in on a day pass so outside our room was a public pool with kids everywhere. Now the pool guy was super nice, the guard Juan was also incredible. We met the musician bar tender and her was super. He fixed our TV for us.
So food- skip it

Other staff - frustrating and need some guest training.
When we did get a drink from the bar the glass was chipped and cracked! We threw it out.

Dunama Hotel & Casino is a pretty basic/average hotel. There are no bells and whistles about this place, despite its location and beautiful view of the ocean. Despite its amount of rooms, it cannot hold all its guests in the breakfast area which means guests need to sprawl out to the bar area. The pool is very small and only supplies maybe 10 beach chairs for all guests, meaning some days we. The Casino is also very mediocre and small.
The photos on their website make this place seem a lot different than it is in person. Our room, despite having a limited view of the ocean, was very dark. It led out to some kind of veranda, which connected to all the other rooms on our floor. While all other room types had outdoor furniture, ours did not.

This hotel was a great location, I asked for a swim up pool and didn't get that and they said the hotel was full but spoke to other guest that were able to move rooms.
the rooms smelled like really bad paint.
The room had no dressers and under the bed was very dirty.
When I proceeded to ask the staff about changing rooms they laughed and told me that is the only room available.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel

The staff seems to me not well trained. At 12PM I asked the bar for a Piña Colada and they told me that they don’t have material to make that drink and that they didn’t know when the kitchen would have prepared the ingredients. The restaurant was supposed to close at 10 pm but at 8.30pm the kitchen was already closed.

The property and the room were dirty and poorly kept upon first assessment though not terrible enough to leave.
When I was turning in for the night to go to bed, this changed. The bed was filthy. Linens covered in hair, dirt and even a dead bug was found in the bed. I was so disgusted that I was prepared to leave in the middle of the night, though there was no one at the desk at midnight except a security guard who was unable to assist. I was unable to sleep in the bed, but had to stay given the lack of alternative lodging accessible to me in the middle of the night.
At 6am I went to the desk to express my concerns and to turn over the key, checking out early. The desk agent seemed less than surprised or as if she could really be concerned with my experience.
A few other concerning things: They'll place you next to the facility AC, in the bottom "garden view" room which is actually near the dumpster. It is very loud. There are exposed wires in the room. Mirrors and light switches were dirty. Sliding glass door lock did not work. There is no elevator, nor are there attendants to take your luggage many floors down to the "garden view" room. No seating or furniture including on the patio outside. AC water is leaking on the patio.
I saw the concerning reviews before booking though thought that maybe people were overexaggerating. It doesn't take much to make me happy but this was just next level filthy and concerning. I've stayed at low end cheap motels cleaner than this.

I enjoyed a comfortable time in a clean room that had both a pool and ocean view. Although I never went to the Casino they had one. They private beach access is very nice. Black sand is abundant on this side of the bay. I only saw other people once down there and I went every day of my trip at some point. It was a welcomed change of pace having it all to myself. Easy walk to Flamingo beach for big waves.

The property is not well kept, my room was moldy and even had black mold on the blanket. No manager on site (at least that's what they said) to solve issues.

I just spent 3 nights here and was my worse experience of customer service i have ever encountered. First of all I had a garden view room on lower level (which felt like I was in the maid’s quarters)…had to walk outside to get to it. There were no chairs in room or on the balcony so could not enjoy it. I had ‘hotel soap’ in plastic wrappers, and cheap shampoo/conditioner and no lotion. My brother had a pool view room and had chairs on balcony, luxurious soaps, and body lotion!
My first night, someone tried to get in my room at 3:30am…I am a single female and was all alone. To say I was terrified is an understatement! When brought to attention of the manager and staff, everyone seemed to have excuses and blamed it on 2 drunk ladies, who denied it! Regardless, I was terrified and they did not offer to correct my situation and move me somewhere safer free of charge…I was offered a free cocktail which I declined and on last night manager offered me a free meal. The disrespect and lack of empathy was disgusting!

There was no furniture in the bedroom other than bed...no seating in room or balcony. When I enquired they gave me a folding chair. Hallway on my floor was dirty.

The only good thing about this place is the view and breakfast, the staff is very nice.
This Hotel have serious Managment problems, our room did not have a single chair, linen was dirty, minibar totally empty, coffee cups were dirty with lipstick mark on it, electric fuse box wide open, our room door didn’t have any handle, stairs and hallways dirty, pool extremely dirty and algae present, pool bar stools inside water are extremely sharp edges , this place is extremely poorly managed and maintained.

Staff was good but it was just strange that there was no chairs in the room only bed and side table. Nice location, beautiful pool and breakfast. Coffee maker but no coffee to use in it.

The property itself was located in a good area. The hotel staff was very helpful, nice & friendly. They were all great! The food was pretty good. The seafood very fresh. It needs some upgrading & the rooms need to be a lot cleaner. I felt my sheets & room and floors needed to be cleaned much better. There needs to be signs to hang on the doors so the cleaning crew knows if they should service your room or not. Like a Do Not Disturb sign. There are no safes or secure box to place $ or travel documents & that is a major necessity. They don't have irons or hairdryers in all of the rooms although I didn't need those. I still had a great time. You can't really access the beach on the property because there isn't much of a beach. It's a tiny slab.

There was no hairdryer in room, no curtain rod/hangers for clothes, lots of mosquitoes, no elevator and had to walk four flights of stairs, and finding the hotel was difficult because of the name change.

Great value for your money. The view was incredible and the staff were wonderful. They're going through a change of ownership and were in the middle of renovations that started at 7am which wasn't favorable for us with a baby who sleeps in :)
The facilities were beautiful and I would stay here again. There were no signs for the door to ask for house keeping or not. We didn't want house keeping and walked in to our room to find two cleaners rummaging through our stuff on the spare bed that wasn't used and didn't need to be made up.

Amazing views is about all this place has to offer. Property is not msintained well with overgrown landscaping. Pool is filthy. Breakfast options are the same everyday. Bar wont charge to room and makrs you pay for every transaction. Pool towels are undersized and bleach stained. Rooms have no safes, clocks, hand towels or racks, not even a toilet paper holder. Just missing on alot of stuff that is normal

The good: The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
The view from the restaurant is amazing. The hotel is only 10 min away from Reserva Conchal, the best beach around. The hotel has a private beach (but it is a long walk down a path of stairs to get there)
The bad: The pool area is very neglected, the pool was dirty.
There was a wedding going on while we were there, and they had a party for two days in a row; the second day, we could not sleep at all, they had a DJ and mariachi right outside our window, and the party ended at 2:00 am. the day of the wedding we could not use the facilities, not even the restaurant. So if you are looking to relax, make sure you check they will not have any events during your stay.
The access to the beach was very steep. We only visited the beach once while we were there since I am pregnant and I was afraid of falling.
The hotel was ok, but I would not go back there. It was not the peaceful experience I was expecting for my vacation.

Super awesome hotel and the people are amazing. Julio, valencia, Sol and Pricila were so good to my kids and I when we were there for a week. They made the hotel great for all of us!
