everything was amazing except for restaurant service could be extremely slow and food quality varied but always good but not always amazing! Which is still good!

Food was ok, jacuzzi was warm not hot, babies in diapers and children under 10 were playing in the jacuzzi .. how can you relax and enjoy the view like that. WiFi absolutely useless. We were totally dismissed when we complained. Expensive!

While the rooms are nice, but nothing exceptional (the beds are very tough, the bathrooms are basic), the location and the gardens of the hotel are breathtaking. It is stunning and gorgeous !
The restaurant of the hotel is good. The breakfast is also good…when a la carte (the buffet is disappointing).

This hotel was so beautiful and very well Maintence. Its landscaping gave me Italy environment with a beautiful volcano view.

Beautiful Property. Needs A/C in the rooms, even if it’s cold outside, rooms are very hot.
The property, the gardens and the pool area are beautiful. I will stay again, please put air conditioners in the room.

Gone downhill tremendously.

Hotel Atitlán is beautifully decorated, the gardens are stunning, and all rooms have a view of Lake Atitlán and volcanoes. The shop still features a wonderful curated collection of crafts, many made exclusively for the hotel’s shop by local artisans. Why 3 stars. It’s the first time we stay at the hotel in high season and at $350/night, this rate is exorbitant when compared to the value. They’re authorized by INGUAT, Guatemala’s tourism board, to charge $195/night at most and I can see why. The rooms are small, furnishings are basic, the bathroom is not what you’d expect at this rate, and the WiFi did not work in our room. The quality of the restaurant has also declined, which I’m sure happened over the pandemic and I hope they’ll be able to correct over time.

I loved the atmosfere, location, fireworks, service. Etc.

A place of extreme peace. Loved our stay even if the endless Christmas music over 3 days really became a bit too much.
The location is gorgeous, the staff and locals are all so friendly, the view is amazing and the climate is utterly perfect. Crisp mornings and evenings, perfect for sleeping, and bright, warm sunny days.
One thing to note. We travelled from London and whenever heading west jet lag always has us up at 4-5am the first days. I love a morning coffee, my wife a tea. Unfortunately the hotel has no kettles. I couldn’t believe it either. We were given finger-warm water in a thermos a couple of times but that just doesn’t cut it. I ended up buying a kettle in San Juan and all was bliss thereafter.
Good at the hotel is generally very very good, a bit pricey compared to the local area. The cafes and their breakfast (The Little Spoon in Pana, the San Juan cafe in San Juan) were probably the best food experiences overall.
Overall though Atitlan is an amazing place, I’d come back in a heartbeat just to chill and relax. Make sure you see the other villages around the Lake, all have their own identity.

The hotel is beautiful and has an amazing view of the lake and volcanoes. They have a well established and well maintained garden that is full of surprises. The garden is walkable and has a vast variety of plants that attracts a wide variety of birds. The staff is very friendly, polite, and helpful. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the restaurant to enjoy with the excellent food served. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We definitely stay here again and also strongly recommend this hotel.

Truly a beautiful location not only because of the amazing views of Lake Atitlan, but also the beauty and care taken on the grounds of the hotel. Magnificent! We also traveled there for the Christmas holidays and the hotel is beautifully decorated. The service is wonderful and the food was great too. We will be back!

The people who work here are awesome. The grounds are amazing - like a botanical garden - and the pool area is really great for families and relaxing parents. The rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable.

I recently stayed at Hotel Atitlan with amazing views of the lake of Atitlan. The beds were comfortable, and the room design was well done. However, the shower lacked proper barriers, causing water to wet the bathroom floor. The dining options were limited and a bit pricey compared to local restaurants. The room was not soundproof, which made it challenging to sleep peacefully. Additionally, there were only a few rooms with king-size beds, making it difficult to secure one. Overall, the hotel offered beautiful views and comfortable accommodations, but there were some issues with the shower, dining, noise, and bed availability.

Service is terrible

Don’t believe the pictures when you reserve, that is not what you will get. And they don’t care or do anything to resolve because they say is the same price 2 beds or 1 king

You can not find a more beautiful, unique hotel. Surrounded by lush gardens, it really feels like a special experience. Liked that it was tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Pana with a dock for easy boat access to see villages on Lake Atitlan. Our daughter loved the pool. The food was pricier but enjoyable. Would have loved an in room coffee maker! Overall a wonderful experience
