The service and facilities were amazing. Housekeeping is amazing and very helpful. Check-in was easy and the staff was very helpful. The buffet is by far one of the best I've ever seen.
If you are planning on having two people in a bed other than a king-size, think again. The "regular" beds are a little larger than a twin and smaller than a double. They are perfect for just one person.
There are also slipping challenges. The tile in the hotel is beautiful, but slippery, wear good shoes.

Rooms are spacious but they need new painting, it felt moldy and mold spots were present. Also the presumably white doors were more gray due to the hundred human fingerprints it gandered during the years. The biggest negative for us was house keeping. Sheets were usually stained, not changed every day, some of the pillows were having a bad smell. The food is average. But Riu isn't renowned for the food. It was ok overall . The variety wasn't that rich regarding the massiveness of the hotel. The day activities are loved by kids. The employees from the animation team are very friendly. The one's from the evening shows are very good dancers. Their shows are well executed. As a whole experience, we had a great stay, relaxing and fun ( Riu's are usually fun).
The weather at the end of November, beginning of December was around 30 degrees Celsius during the day with passing showers from time to time. In 11 days only one day was raining most of it and one was mostly cloudy. But never felt cold.
So the hotel was ok overall and has value for money (at 187 euro per night in my case). The beach is decent, not great, don't expect to be like the ones in Mexico. At least not on the Pacific side.
They have nice beaches in the other part of the country, but less hotels offer and are harder to reach.

Place is beautiful and have lots of potential but
Staff don’t care about the guests
Restaurants were not good at all… the buffet that was the best part so don’t waste your time on line for restaurants go straight to buffet it’s the best
They need to work on the attractions not bad but can be better other than that pools were awesome so was the beach and free parking

Nice place to relax. Plenty of food options and the chefs go put of their way to please you. Reception staff could be more accomodating.

A well maintained property with manicured lawns and festively decorated for Christmas in the lobby areas and special lighting on all palm trees.
Staff picking up every glass or cup discarded on the sand by the very diverse groups of guests (although collection points are readily available) is remarkable.
The "reservation by towel" of beach/pool chairs is not discouraged.

Staff is very nice. Food is abundant and very good. The entertainment staff is amazing! Rooms are basic with no toiletries, limited linens and towels, but you can request on the Riu app. The resort really needs maintenance. We had a good time, but we read all the other reviews and knew what to expect.

I like the environment and the beach. I didn’t like the smell in the Sport Bar area. RIU has to check this out

Stayed four nights, Friendly staff, great food, clean, lovely pools and grounds, really enjoyed my stay, rooms could use some upgrades but comfortable. We had an amazing time at Riu and will stay again. Highly recommend.

Beautiful facility. Smiling staff

We had ants in our room and went to the front desk twice and all they did was send house keeping which didn’t get rid of the ants. There we legit ants in the beds. We had to put our luggage on the balcony

There were only 2 disappointments: 1). The Asian restaurant … service and food were both inferior; and 2) Buffet at Chiriqui … very poor selection (1 day only).

This hotel has not facilities to reach the beach for people with disabilities. The beach is not blue and transparent, it has litlle stones at the border.

Hotel is a huge building, something that fits more a city hotel than a beach hotel. A LOT of people!! And this is because the hotel was made to be more profitable than comfortable for customers (I've noticed RIU hotels are pretty much like this one: big towers with a lot of rooms).

This resort was acceptable. The check in was very good, without any delay. The rooms are dated, but clean. The beds are very small, but comfortable . The maid service was wonderful, as was all the resort staff. The nightly entertainment was very good, but but with the same entertainers every night. The buffet was very good, with a good selection. We dinned in the Chinese & Italian restaurants, and both were just ok. The food was bland, and service was very slow. Overall, our experience was adequate.

Overall the property is immaculately well-kept and clean stuffs were always cleaning and on top of everything they were very friendly and helpful pleasant. My room was still my satisfaction, beautiful and comfortable food and drinks while in abundance. I definitely will recommend this place. Looking forward to going back again.

Beautiful resort facilities, beach a little rough for seniors. No too distant from Panama City, however if you hit rush hour the traffic is terrible.

Very nice hotel overall. Staff was caring and courteous.

The rooms, service, staff, entertainment are all excellent! However, there was an unacceptable and very scary issue on one of the evenings, there was a power outage in the area, and the electrical plant at the hotel took too long to start working. There were people trapped in the elevators for too long, including my daughter with her husband and 2 little kids. Then, the power went off several more times during the evening. We heard that the same issue has occurred in various occasions within the past days

The hotel was awesome! Everything was conveniently located, the beach was super clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the food at the restaurants was plentiful and tasteful. Highly recommended!

I can’t believe this is a Riu hotel, there were bugs in our bed, the food wasn’t good, they over cook everything, property is in bad condition and everywhere smells like mold, you can’t even relax at the beach due to the horse ride guys, and the airport is 2 hours away.

We (group of 28) have stayed at RIU resorts before and have been very pleased. However, this Panama resort was a total let down, Our dilemma started with the mold found on our mattresses and pillows. My 2 year old grandson got sick on day 1, because the bed and bedding was full of mold and bacteria, but his parents will address further in their survey. The shower handles were unclean, the bath basin drains were sluggish, the floors looked and felt like they were mopped with grease, The room doors looked battered and in need of repair, the ice machine was dirty and had rust and lime scale build up on it, the hallways just look dirty and unclean, Overall, the place looked very unkept.
The food was awful, always looks like day old food, only good thing was the oats porridge and cocoa (chocolate ) tea. Don't think we will ever return to RIU Panama.
Chris the manager did his best to have our issues resolved, but it was a battle. With all this headache, no one has offered any compensation for our inconvenience,,, smh

The staff were very attentive.

A nice property but they do not keep up with the upkeep. I was given a spoiled and diety mattress for my children to sleep on, this was the last straw for us and demanded a new room. This is not even including the rust in the bath tub and the handles fallen off of the drawers.

It is a good resort with pools, bars and restaurants in good condition. But in general they have an old acomodations and infrastructure that frequently have fails or broken things.

I enjoyed my stay. However, the property could use some maintenance related to addressing the smell in the nightclub and sports bar.

The hotel is kept impeccably clean. You can tell that the hotel staff takes pride in their work.

Is a wonderful place for my kids, my wife and I enjoy all the time, I think the place needs a playground out of the water

This trip was our very first time in Panama, and it was incredible. The hotel was great, people were great, food and drinks were great. Overall, a fantastic experience and we can't wait to go back!

Overall had a great stay. Service is the best no complaints there. Food and drinks are good.

I've stayed at many RIU properties over the years and this one is absolutely low standards compared to the RIU brand.
The bathroom had an odd sewer like smell.
When the toilet is being flushed, it would literally spit water out of the bowl.
The bathroom tub would fill up as you showered leaving you standing in a pool of your own bath water. The mini bar says that it's refilled every 2 days but ours was never refilled
Multiple delays on our room while I watched other guests get checked in ahead of me.
The room A/C was quite for the noisy for the entire stay, eventually it just stopped working, this was my last day so I didn't report it
The ice maker on my floor was broken, I reported it was told to just go downstairs to the bar for ice.
The tour guys out front sold us a tour that was literally nothing like what we were expecting.
Overall the place wasn't horrible but the RIU brand usually has a fairly high standard. This was at best a 1.5 star experience.

It was wonderful
