It was a great stay from checking in to checking out. We take our dog with us and it was so awesome.

Great decor and ambiance. The pool was warm. Hot tub was hot. Perfect for my kids. The pool is a little over 4 feet deep at the deepest part so no diving. The continental breakfast had lots of delicious pastry and other sugary carb options. Eggs were the only protein option and they were overcooked. Would be nice to see a wider variety of protein. I would definitely stay here again.

Honestly it was a decent looking place, but as far as cleanliness goes you should lose the glass on the tables and desk. Somehow it’s dirty underneath and you could tell they don’t remove the glass to wipe it down. Shower was dirty and scummy. Drawings on the mirrors from previous guests. And with the heat being turned off upon entrance the heater could never catch up with the weather. When trying to check in and out I had to search for an employee. Could see straight under the door so could hear every little noise in the hall from employees and other guests while sleeping. No one had taken care of any of the entrances upon arrival and leaving. Almost grabbed a shovel sitting there and took care of it myself. Breakfast messed my stomach up. Overall a mediocre experience. Flashy look with motel 6 experience.

Wonderful property and kind staff.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The whole building was very clean. The hotel amenities were very nice. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever back in Des Moines.

It was the second time staying here during a couple long, two-day roadtrips. It's a comfortable hotel and they allow pets with a nominal fee. We'll definitely stay again on our way through town.

The people who work here are nice and pleasant and attentive. 2nd time here and will be back again.

Always love our stays at Wildwood Lodge! Love the burning firepit outside, clean conditions and friendly staff. Beds are a little firm but rooms are clean and quiet. Full breakfast is delicious and filling.

Our room had no shower curtain but when we told them about it, they took care of it pronto!

We really like how homey this hotel feels and always stay when we are in the area.

When we checked in we were lectured that I wasn't allowed to have guests. Which was surprising and unusual, but I didn't think much else of it until Saturday night. The pool area was PACKED and we gave up after about 10 minutes. I am guessing they have a problem with people using the pool on the weekends who aren't hotel guests. The firepit Friday night was packed with people who had a few too many beers. So the two reasons I booked the hotel for three nights, two rooms, were both negated. We were policed about policies while they were ineffective in implementing those policies when it mattered. On the plus side, as usual the linens were clean, beds comfortable. We won't stay here again and sad to see how far downhill it's gone in the past year.

We’ve stayed here a # of times traveling, very clean, staff always kind & friendly, we hv a small dog, they are very reasonable on pet charge & put you on the first floor so you aren’t taking your pet up & dwn on elevator, we appreciate that. Highly recommend.

The decor is fun and warm, the staff was lovely. Our room was clean and quiet despite being close to the I and a major thoroughfare. We're book again for tonight. We travel this route at least twice a year. This may be our go to on the future.

Extremely nice hotel. From 1st appearances it wowed me. The inside continued to impress me. I was greeted by receptionist when walking in. The place is very well maintained; comfortable, and welcoming. I highly recommend this and gladly give it the highest rating possible.

Check in was quick and friendly. The clerk was gracious enough to let us know that there was a bus tour group there and the would be leaving the next morning at 9am so we were able to wait until they were gone to go to breakfast. Everything was extremely clean, staff were all friendly. The fire pit was lovely! Would definitely stay here again!

A quaint but very homey

The stay was amazing!! The staff were so friendly and so accommodating. We got in a couple hours early and they let us check in. They knew me and my husband were here for our anniversary and put us on the top floor so we didn’t have to listen to people “below” us. Love sitting outside by the fire. So relaxing!! Will definitely stay again!!

We had a wonderful stay. Everyone here is super nice and helpful. Anthoy checked us in and he was great to talk to and advised us for dinner. Love the outside fire pit...we will definitely come back.

Our family traveled to the area and searched for something unique with a pool. This place is a gem! Check in was smooth. Pizza recommendation was spot on! Breakfast was warm and inviting for our family. Comfortable beds. Bigger than average room. Nice bathroom! Overall we’d return!

We have been going to this hotel for years when in town to visit family. This past year, is been so popular we've had to reserve months in advance to get a room. That said.... The floor by the bed closer to the window appeared to have fresh menstrual blood on the carpet that hadn't been cleaned. On Sunday evening staff was folding laundry and watching TV in the common area at about 7, preventing our family from enjoying dinner there. Then despite the fact that there was no one else on the pool area, staff came to reiterate to us at 9 that children needed to be out of the pool by 9:30 as the last half hour was "adult only." There was a sign posted and we intended to leave at 9:30 but were taken aback that staff would interrupt us for this. Kids were quiet and well behaved so I felt there was no reason for them to do this. They only succeeded in making the kids anxious. Lastly and most egregiously, housekeeping (I hope housekeeping, whoever it was didn't identify themselves) came into our room while my daughter and I were sleeping. They hastily backtracked when we panicked and asked who was there. Not sure if there is was miscommunication regarding our dates of stay or what happened. This hotel has always been wonderful before this and we will try one more time. Will be using one of the hotel-door safety locks off Amazon. If the problems persist we will not be going back though.

The stay was overal a good place to stay. I enjoyed the rustic decor giving it the lodge feel. The hotel was clean, service dog friendly and the staff were easy to work with. If you're looking for a good hearty breakfast plan on eating somewhere else. The breakfast was a small step above a continental breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay. Very nice hotel and the room rate was very reasonable. They have a very nice continental breakfast. Dog friendly which was perfect for us. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Only thing I would mention is that a few of the tiles along the base of the walls in the bathroom were coming off and so it looked in disrepair and neglected. That should be repaired immediately. Still, we would happily return when we travel through the area again.
