We stayed for two nights at Drift House in Port Fairy and had a somewhat mixed experience.
The accommodation itself is absolutely stunning — beautifully designed, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. It really feels like a special place to stay. We also dined in the restaurant and the meal was beautiful, with high-quality food and a great atmosphere. The staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, our overall experience was soured by our interactions with the owner, which left us feeling uncomfortable and somewhat judged during our stay.
It’s a shame, as Drift House has so much going for it and is in such a gorgeous location. Port Fairy is a stunning town and well worth visiting. With a different tone set at the top, this could have been an exceptional stay.

Absolutely amazing spot if you are doing the Great Ocean Drive. Loved all the architectural details and the food and service were impeccable!
