This place was way better than I was expecting. It is large and clean and very traditional and has great amenities like a washer dryer, a great bathroom and a nice upstairs. Just my wife and rented it but it could easily comfortably hold a family of 6. The people running it ere super nice and very responsive and helpful. I plan to stay there again!

Great spot to stay at if you are driving all over Kyoto. They have their own parking spots. The place was really spacious and offered free bikes to use around town. They even have a washer and dryer. I’ll definitely come back!

If I could, I would give this place six stars in a five-star rating system.
The hotel was recommended by a Japanese friend of mine who grew up in Kyoto. When I told him I wanted to stay in a place with traditional Japanese style, he suggested this one. I already liked it a lot from the photos online, but when I walked through the door, it was even more beautiful than I imagined.
The staff was incredibly kind. We made a mistake when we first arrived—we dropped off our luggage at another, unrelated hotel (not sure how someone in our group mixed up the address). When the staff at this hotel found out, they told us to wait at the hotel while they drove an hour round trip to retrieve our bags from the other location.
I will definitely stay here again when I return to Kyoto, and I recommend it to everyone.

This home was beautiful and in a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood. We wish we spent more time relaxing here. There were some safety concerns with a toddler with the stairs etc, but they could easily be blocked off.
