JR East Hotel Mets Premier Gotanda

Such a fantastic location, right in Gotanda station, on the Yamanote line, you can go anywhere so easily. Well organized, sporlessly clean, I had a single room which was not that so tiny, had a comfortable double bed, would have worked for 2 people. Great bathroom. No closet but enough space for all luggage. They kindly stored my big luggage for 1 week since I will be going back. Reception was very friendly, it was a very pleasant stay. Great wifi.

Wasn’t really thrilled about breakfast. It is not expensive, you can choose a menu with western style breakfast, but it is with eggs and bacon, not my favorite, and the buffet items are very japanese. I love japanese food but have a hard time to start the day on it. But this is a personal opinion which does not affect my overall score. The hotel is right above the tracks, nevertheless very quiet but it might bother someone. Honestly, you can hardly notice the trains. I had just checked in and wondered if my room would always rumble at esch passing train, until I realized I had just felt a small earthquake, there was never amy rumble from any train!

The hotel is just right next to Gotanda JR station and the entrance is directly connected to the JR station or Asakusa line, very convenient and both lines are assessible to most major tourist attractions in Tokyo. We strategically selected this hotel because there was a typhoon in Tokyo and no umbrella was required even on rainy days if you travelled between Gotanda and other shopping malls/attractions connected to other JR stations (eg. Gotanda to/from Tokyo, Shinagawa, Takanawa station), plenty of entertainment and dining options to do on rainy days! Lots of restaurants, cafes, yakitori, yakiniku, bars, supermarkets, convenient stores, eateries in the surrounding areas. The hotel reception is on the 3rd floor within Atre Gotanda 2, you can find Uniqlo (2/F) and supermarkets (G/F) in the same building. There's a walkover bridge (not covered) connected to Tokyu Stay Gotanda, another shopping mall with plenty of shops, eg. Muji, supermarket, etc. Hotel facilities were properly maintained and cleaned. Bed was comfy with different pillow options available. There was a massager on chair available which was very handy especially walking after a whole day and you could relax on the chair. We like the Dyson hairdryer and the proper Japanese bathroom with shower and bathtub facilities. Plenty of amenities for your selection at reception lobby. Our room was not facing the train tracks and it was very quiet with an open view, and it was also on the floor with a laundry room close by! Room size was definitely sufficient for a couple to fit in with 3 large and 1 small luggage. It was our first time staying at this hotel and we would likely to return in our next trip to Tokyo.
