Oberwaid

The friendly staff, the really comfortable bed, excellent breakfast buffet.

The evening meal was not as good as meals I've eaten at Oberweid in the past.

The staff in the restaurant was particularly unhelpful.reception staff was good.

The room is big and very clean, but the bed is too soft.

I don't know that it is or was a clinic! I was very shocked when I saw the pictures on the wall about the history of the hotel/clinic, as we walked to have breakfast! In Booking.com it was written "Oberwaid. Das Hotel", and when I arrived it written "Oberwaid. Das Hotel. Die Klinik.". If "Die Klinik" part also written in Booking.com, I would have not make the booking. Let alone it costed almost 1000€ for 3 nights. I am deeply disappointed. We tried to pacify our disappointment by going to the spa area... which then only end up unamused. In the review people highly praised the spa area... but when we were actually there... for a big hotel the spa area is too small for the guests. Let alone no extra towels to be found. And the quiet rooms are too small. I can't imagine if the hotel/clinic is suddenly fully booked and 50% of the guests decided to go to the spa area because of the bad weather, and want to use the quiet room... Oberwaid needs improvements, and transparency that it is a hotel and a clinic. 1000€ for 3 nights is a huge amount of money to spend and give nothing but disappointment when the guests' expectations are not met.
