Big, nice hotel that really seems like high-society destination in the 70s

The staff was very polite, nice and welcoming. Overall very clean room too.
It was hot weather outside and even with the full blast of AC (it was pretty old), the temperature in the room was unbearably hot. Breakfast was very basic.

One simply cannot beat the excellent location, right at the bottom of the mountains, and the gorgeous views from the back balcony!
This is a communist era hotel, recently updated, but still in need of a lot of work to bring it up to the standards international travelers expect. That being said, hotel Silva has amazing potential, a true blast-from-the-past experience; so definitely worth a stay even if only to experience 1980s nostalgia.

The hotel was pretty big with access to most facilities of a 3 star hotel but I would say the quality was more like 2 star.
Try to avoid twin rooms and go for the double beds if you want to get a nice room.
Big difference between the 5th floor and the 6th floor. The fifth floor was much worse while the price was not much cheaper. It looked like it was being renovated to maybe they didn’t get to all the floors yet.
