Wunderschönes Hotel in atemberaubender Natur

Die Umgebung ist wirklich toll, das Hotel gibt sich große Mühe mit der Anlage, man kann im Garten viele Tiere beobachten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Abendessen war einmal gut (Fisch) und einmal hervorragend (Rinderfilet, Empfehlung!)

Das Bad ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und verkalkt. Ein Fliegengitter wäre noch die Kirsche on top!

great place to chill (especially after hiking cerro chirripo) and enjoy being outside

super neat garden area, herb garden and pool! really nice atmosphere in the mountains and comfortable room and restaurant area.

Quiet, well located in the mountains with plenty to do nearby. We enjoyed our stay here, the room was tidy and comfortable, the restaurant served good food and it was very cosy thanks to the fireplace. Lots of birds to see, and as a bonus an entire gallery of wood carvings to look at.

It was perfect!

Everything was well cared for and spotless!! The staff were delightful,! We enjoyed every minute ! We enjoyed the stunning views, all the flowers and especially all the birds and butterflies!

Creamer for my morning coffee in my room. Well, that is the only thing I can come up with and I am sure if Ii had asked, they would have given me some milk to keep in the little fridge.

We had a nine day stay, and managed to find walks and things to do daily. A car is helpful.

close to pueblo, but away from traffic and noise. Good value. Well kept property and grounds. Staff available and helpful, but not too pushy. Restaurant good.

The hotel is located in such a beautiful place and the restaurant is very good. I could hang out by the pool all day and watch all the birds flying around and the mountains in the distance. Very friendly staff

Wonderful garden, amazing view, beautyful public places and peaceful environment.

Walls are really thin, so we could hear every voice at night. Hair dryers would be necessary.

Spacious bungalow and helpful staff

The staff were very helpful. able to phone from the UK and speak in English. changed my date with no extra charge. spacious bungalow with bathroom, although cold shower. enjoyed a meal in the restaurant with large log fire. stayed a night before hiking up Chirripo. told us where we could park a car at the trail start. thank you very much.

would have preferred a hot shower

Very good View, Very good garden, location is good for hikers who want to clime Cerro Chirripo, the staff is friendly

Exceptional

Everything was amazing here. We came in the off season and booked night before since hubby and I were traveling with no destination and exploring Costa Rica. What a gem. Staff were all wonderful and so nice. We both got great massages after a delicious breakfast. We really got more than we were expecting. Definitely will come again to enjoy!

It's Impossible to not like anything here. So Unique.

A bit out of the way but a super nice place.

A bit out of the way but well worth it. Went during June and $58 for a great room and almost no other guests.

I didn't like the steep steep hill driveway.

as we could not come to this hotel , we asked to cancel . all other properties always willing to cancel without any charge. the owner ( no booking) was not willing to give envelopes half of what we paid. so , be careful when booking thi place . it happens that in casts rica plans might change .

Very pleasant, close to Casa Alegria, the wonderful butterfly dome.

Very nice. Visit Casa Alegria, the butterfly dome just down the road, truely a unique and beautiful project with a very good short tour and a small fee for entry. Really impressive. The Pelicano had a nice restaurant, good breakfast, nice birds in the morning. Very pleasant place to stay.

Gracious, attentive staff, gorgeous grounds, room mediocre.

As birders, this place is a dream. The owner, Wilson, is an avid birder. He showed us some of the special birds: white-crested coquette, gray-headed hawk, fiery-billed aracari, etc. Plus, the gardens are just beautiful: flowers everywhere. The room's amenities were just OK. Lumpy mattress and pillows, minimal lighting. Food, good, not exceptional. Ambiance top-notch.

A perfect place to stay in a beautiful area.

El Pelícano is a gem of a hotel nested at the base of the Talamanca mountains. I stayed here for 2 days prior to embarking on an epic hike to Cerro Uran and Cerro Chirripo. It was the perfect place to acclimatize to higher altitudes and rest up before the trek. The casita was spacious and comfortable. The pool area was clean and inviting and the grounds and gardens were immaculate. The food was amazing. The staff were kind and courteous. I can’t wait to return next year!
