Cannot recommend due to the non-stop noise.

It's a reasonable house with off-street parking. During the day the (non adjustable) evaporative air-conditioning system does a good job of keeping the house cool,with the caveat that during our visit the weather was not humid. The kitchen is a regular kitchen with all the facilities you would expect including a fridge, oven, cooktop, coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave and toaster.. Note, there is no WiFi and the TV is not 'smart' so no streaming, casting or Netflix!

Yes it has air-conditioning, but it's a whole-house evaporative system that is either ON or OFF. These systems require windows to be open to work properly. The property is on Williams Street, also known as the Barrier Highway, the main road from Adelaide to Broken Hill and places beyond. The main bedroom (we'll get to the others in a minute) is at the front of the house, directly facing said Barrier Highway. Now, if you want the air conditioning on, and you will, you'll need the bedroom window open. Good luck sleeping with the semi-trailers going past all night! Of course, you can close the window but the air-conditioning isn't going to work very well at all, good luck sleeping without a properly operating air-conditioner! There are two other bedrooms (and we presume a bathroom) at the rear of the house but these were locked so we make no comment about them, except to say at first we thought sleeping in one of these back bedrooms might have been quieter than having the truck noises in the main bedroom. We would have been mistaken.... The house next door has a rottweiler dog that barked all night in its 'big dog bark' (I'll note, without further comment, that this neighbour had a sticker on the rear window of their car, "Hated locally"), and the house behind has two 'yappy' dogs that barked at all hours of the day and night! It's a pity, it's a nice house and the owners seemed nice and the off-street parking was appreciated but due to the noise we just cannot recommend this place.

Clean, easy and lovely stay in Broken Hill

The house was clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I travelled there for work and there wasn't any WIFI so just something to note if you need to get things done online or wish to stream any devices. Otherwise great stay and would definitely book again

spoilt by inconvenience of no gas / host's attitude / no refund yet

1 1/2 days no gas: no cooking, heating or hot water... not good!! difficulty to make contact with host, repeated attempts without response; took more than a day to resolve issue despite many attempts to contact host (ph txt email)... agreed refund of 1 night but host not very forthcoming to help repair damage to client relationship - for this alone NOT RECOMMENDED! but nil refund yet (we left on 4 May, now 20th) Still waiting for refund... a bad experience in all - not what you want during nor after your holiday.

The house was clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I travelled there for work and there wasn't any WIFI so just something to note if you need to get things done online or wish to stream any devices. Otherwise great stay and would definitely book again

Bedroom configuration not as advertised. Unsuitable for 2 couples. 2 bedrooms only had king singles in each. expensive property with inadequate welcome pack, no milk, no coffee pods for machine, no tissues
