loved the secluded location the friendly staff and the hot tub!! Excellent for disabled people who can walk as downstairs bedroom , toilet and shower.
needs better signage on the facilities such as games room, laundry etc just so you know where your heading to. Mat on inside of door to hayloft a death trap. Needs a bit of non slip rug tape on the bottom so it doesn’t skid across the tiles. Also could do with a shower over the bath for when multiple adults go so no fights over the shower lol

Lots of freedom for the children to play, safe from the main road. Loved relaxing in the hot tub once children in bed.

Great location for visiting York and surrounding areas. Good parking.We liked the ground floor bedroom and shower room which meant some members of our party did not have to use the stairs to reach the first floor bedrooms. Hot-tubs and sauna were nice, but shared as mentioned on information, (please be aware only 1 hot tub was heated for part of our stay, and so at times we could not get in due to other guests staying in it for around 3 hours per evening).
Accommodation is very creaky, it is not great if you have light sleepers or people not going to bed at the same time. Creaky stairs, and floorboards upstairs, and wooden headboards attached to beds creaked every time anyone turned over or got in or out of bed. Door handles also creaked, with great force needed to push down enough to get the lock to move in some rooms ( upstairs bathroom particularly bad, to the point multiple people thought they would get stuck in there). There seems to be a very quick turn around between stays with cleaning equipment appearing outside around 15 minutes before the check out times. Bedding, carpets and floors were clean and bathrooms had been cleaned, but shower had been only quickly cleaned. Shower room has mold around ceiling above it, grout it also not very clean and there was a patch of tiles that had mold on that has been missed when cleaning. I reported the shower at the end of our stay via the booking.com communication as I was unable to find a staff member, 4 days later I still have not had a response. I am assuming if I managed to catch them they may have dealt with it, as they did changed the towels for us mid stay as we were stopping for 10 nights.
Also, only 1 key, so if 2 families stopping perhaps see if they can provide another.
