We spent 5 nights at Yangshuo Mountain Retreat at the end of our trip through China, after Chengdu, Chongqing and Zhangjiajie, and it was honestly the highlight of our journey.
The setting is simply breathtaking, with incredible mountain views and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. We stayed in one of the bungalows and felt at home from the very first moment.
The breakfasts and the dinners are absolutely delicious and the prices are reasonable for the quality.
We also loved the activities offered by the hotel: the “massages”, the “Chinese cooking class” and renting a “motorbike” to explore the area and visit Fully Bridge and Yulong river. They are a wonderful way to experience Yangshuo beyond the usual tourist spots.
But the real magic is the team. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful, and a very special mention to Ana, our “Super Ana” 🦸♀️, who was an absolute angel and made us feel so well looked after throughout our stay.
If we had to mention one thing, it would be a swimming pool, especially after a day exploring in the heat! But honestly, this is only a tiny detail.

Yangma (tea master) and Jasmine are the best! Food was so good - we saw the chefs walk up with baskets of fresh produce. Pool had an insane view.
Cockroaches and spiders in room. Staff helped us get rid of them though.

It's a beautiful spot on the river exceptional views from the room.
The property is very isolated, for me this was not a plus the dinner I had of sweet-and-sour pork was really pretty bad I wouldn't recommend the food. Not ideal for solo traveler
