We did not end up staying here as the day we were to check in, EVEN hotel called to say they were overbooked and moved us to a different hotel in another part of town. They promised it was for a comparable room as I was traveling with 2 kids. When we arrived at the new hotel, they did not have a room for all of us and had gotten incorrect info from EVEN about what we needed. I called EVEN to have them find us a new room. I spoke with 3 different people before someone tried to actually help correct the problem (the first person offered me a room in Brooklyn for much more per night, despite having already paid for my room in midtown). The third person did call around and try to find us a room, but only found something much farther away, and told me I wouldn’t get a refund. In fact, I was informed I’d have to pay an extra fee. Luckily, the hotel staff at hotel #2, where I was in while working on this, were extremely kind and actually helped find a beautiful room for my kids and I to stay in. I was very unimpressed with how EVEN handled the whole situation and won’t be reserving with them again.

It wasn’t the worst stay I’ve ever experienced, but it also was not the best. At first, our original room was not made up and there were dirty towels, and linens strewn about. Then when we went back to the front desk and got our new room, it just was pretty lackluster. It was just an average room with no real great view, and a bed that was supposedly king size (but it definitely wasn’t). My biggest qualm was that I paid almost $700 for two nights and the stay was worth all of about $400 total. Nothing to write home about.

Lighting in the room was not functional.
The choice for in room lighting was:
• all lights on, (need sunglasses at night, LoL),
• or, it was all lights off.
• No in between!
• Staff said, “you have to find the right combination of switches (3) to not have all the lights on at once.”
I could not figure it out in either room!
• Second room, same issues!
• Sipper lids for the in-room coffee. Too big! Or the cup the cups are too small! (Both rooms!)
Hmmm…

I’ve stayed in many hotels in NYC while traveling for work and for medical appointments, and the experience at this hotel has been the absolute Worst! My first night, was weird. A maintenance worker randomly walked into my room while my daughter was getting dressed, The manager then called me to say “ yeah sorry he didn’t know the room was occupied” All he had to do was knock! The fridge in my room didn’t work at all and it also smelled like fish, I thought I paid for a “ city view” and the view was to the back of a building across the street. But wait there’s more! As I am exiting the building after checkout, with my sick child who just had surgery, another guest decided that he wanted to ram into me and argue after I told him to pay attention. He called me the “N” word several times as well. Let’s also keep in mind, that the hotel is located near the Nigerian Embassy and to have racial slurs shouted to me at 10 am was quite the experience. Never again EVEN! I wish I could get all of my money back !

The room was excellent. Large and clean. Ricardo at the bar was fabulous. My only complaint is the first night the entire floor smelled of marijuana. I turned on the AC o rid the smell but it was worse. I had to sleep with the window open which was very cold so I could breathe. This is supposed to be a non smoking hotel.

Good beds, quick walk to central train Station where we purchased a week pass on the subway for 34usd. Breakfast was a disapointment. Had to choose from a slim menue, and you could have only one coffee or a small juice. It worked for a few days, but on day 4 and 5 we just ordered same as the day before.

This was a very comfortable hotel with very friendly, welcoming staff. We didn’t spend a lot of time here because we were out seeing the sights but it had everything we needed, and it was never too much trouble to send up more coffee pods when we asked! For us it was a perfect location, far away enough from the busy areas to not be noisy, but close enough to everything to get up in the mornings and walk to our first stop. We would stay here again if ever we come back!

I came with my friend for 3 nights, check in was a breeze! Our room was ready way before check in time which was a plus! The room itself was a bit small but it’s New york, what do you expect. We had a nice view on the 6th floor, mini fridge worked perfect, I just wish there was a microwave but there was a coffee machine with coffee and tea. The bathroom was very nice and clean and pretty spacious. Closet was a bit small but there was mini cubbies for storage and there was also under the bed storage drawers which I didn’t know until the last day! Overall, for the price and location I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was OK, the service at the breakfast was too slow, we wait about 30min to order and another 30 min for the food, other than that the service its ok

The hotel is reasonably priced, modern, clean and comfortable. Staff was always helpful and excellent. Loved the yoga mat and blocks in the room. The gym is spacious but could use more weight machines. Loved the $5 happy hour. I’ll be back.

Housekeeping start cleaning room at 8 am doesn’t matter it’s weekend or week day, to noise to loud ! Absolutely terrible. Very thin walls . WiFi works so bad, easy to say it’s not forking at all. Be ready wait your breakfast at list 40-60 min . Waiter tooo slow , look lit she do it special, and just ignore you . Unfriendly vibe at all. I stay this hotel twice , every visit for 4-7 day . And all the time same problem.

Everything was great but the towels weren’t the best. A little too rough for me

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of January.
The staff were rude and not helpful. After an 8-hour flight, and a 1.5 hour taxi drive to the hotel, we weren’t greeted by pleasantries. As soon as we tried to check in, we were told Expedia hadn’t sent over details of our booking, and so they didn’t have a room for us. I proceeded to show them the confirmation email from Expedia, and proof that I’d paid for the room. Still, they said they couldn’t find anything. We were then standing around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to tell us what the next steps were, before one of the four staff standing around aimlessly suggested we go and take a seat and wait.
Whilst seated for another 15 minutes, not knowing what on Earth was going on, someone came over and said we have to get in touch with Expedia and get them to transfer the money to the hotel, otherwise our booking can’t be confirmed. There we are scrambling to find a contact number for Expedia, when she says okay she’ll get a number for us.
As we’re waiting for her to bring the number over, another team member walks over and tells us it’s all fine and that they’ve found our booking. No apologies. No acknowledgment that we’ve been stressed and worried for nearly half an hour. Nothing. We get up, go get the key card to our room and make our way up. Awful customer service.

Double beds seemed very small. Mini fridge did not work. Keurig still had pod from previus person in it. Everything else was great.

I expected a room with a view since it says “corner room” and the picture did show a corner room with a view, but it was not like it was advertised.

Fantastic location near Grand Central. Easy access from JFK by public transport, easy walking to central park, Broadway etc and most importantly it was quiet! I've been staying in Manhattan hotels for 45 years and had one of the best night's sleep here, no sirens or traffic heard at all! Particular thanks to Ricardo at the bar who did his best to introduce his customers to each other making a very sociable evening for all.

The area was very nice in a great location but there was a few unexpected circumstances upon arrival our thermostat was not working so we couldnt use the heat so we called front desk they sent someone up immediately and the issue was corrected but later on it conked out again and wasnt working so thats my only issue with that no heat for 2 nights they room was relatively decent ok for the price they do except dogs so be aware of that because also upon arrival we found 2 dog like hairs in the bed it looked like so that was weird they offered for us to switch rooms but we didnt because we already sprayed everything down with lysol so again overall it was a decent stay. If do go back I probably will stay on the 18th fl it seems way cleaner and it smelled new as if they updated something the 26th fl didnt have the same smell it smelled like marijuana and the carpet was horrible looking outside appearance is everything.

The property was clean and spacious considering the location. I didn't like how I could hear the other guests moving around in the hallway, but it was quiet at night. Only one elevator was working, which sometimes made wait times longer.

Great stay near Grand Central. Staff was great except for the lady that tended the coffee area. My wife and I thought the coffee was complimentary. When we poured ours and started to walk away she yelled “why doesn’t anyone want to pay for coffee today” rather than simply telling us the procedure. I was furious but kept my mouth shut. The lady at the front desk apologized for her coworker. Everyone else on the hotel staff was great and went out of their way to assist us and anticipate our needs.

Room pictures didn’t match the type of room I requested. Had to pay for the upgrade. More than one light didn’t work, one of which just hung from the wall. The “closet” and “drawers” was just a hanger and some boxes. The food was not great and the servers I dealt with weren’t friendly. The desk staff and housekeepers were lovely. The bathroom was almost larger than the main room. My 2nd stay at an Even Hotel but most likely my last.

I travel alone most of the time and prefer privacy and quiet… I love this place and I will be returning again. The staff is super kind and in no-way fake (that’s a big deal) and I just really enjoyed my whole experience.

The hotel rooms are great - clean, large and SUPER quiet. The adjacent parking deck is convenient, with friendly and helpful staff. We prepaid for breakfast during our 5 day stay, but were unable to use the restaurant a single morning. The restaurant was seemingly under staffed and uninterested in serving us. After attempting to have breakfast at the hotel several mornings in a row, we simply gave up and ate elsewhere. I would recommend this hotel, but would NOT pre-purchase breakfast.

Definitely a bit off the beaten path (unless you are going to the UN) but one of the best deals ever in NYC for an exceptionally clean, modern space with great breakfasts and exceptional service.

Hotel is nothing fancy, but was still nice and fairly priced. Very clean and staff are friendly, checking in was super simple, we had a great time here. Close to times square and the grand central terminal was also a super close walk, making getting around nyc during our stay very convenient.

This hotel is great for the price! It costs about half what the others around them go for. The rooms are smaller but perfect if it’s just you and another person. The beds are comfy and everything is clean. Very nice gym! The hotel is also a quick 5 min walk to grand central and a 10-15 min walk to Times Square

The Even Hotel was perfect for our family trip to NYC. Location is great- close to subway and Grand Central but quiet and off the beaten path for sleep. So many great restaurants around- check out Amaze Asian Fusion. Clean and comfortable hotel. Loved the cork floors.
