About this cottage rental
The Ruff Seas was originally built as a fisherman’s cottage after hurricane Hazel. The house is on the woodland side of the island and a quick 7 minute walk to beach. This lot has an extra relaxed feel, as a neighboring lot is undeveloped. The cottage sits back from the street. Behind a picket fence is the porch and it is truly wonderful with floor to ceiling screening and unobstructed views of the flora and fauna. coming in off the porch you enter a very comfortable and open living area that flows into a huge dining table and kitchen beyond. There are so many extras..... A Carport to bring the groceries in when it rains or to put new wax on your surfboard. Outdoor shower to rinse off you and the seashells. Gas grill to prepare that fresh caught flounder. Please come enjoy the pleasures of quiet relaxed island living!

Comfortable, cozy home. Enjoyed screened porch and woodland view. Quiet neighborhood location. Impressed by how well the place was loaded with items for personal care as well as a generously stocked kitchen.

Love this location at the beach!
We walked down the street to beach access with restrooms, playground, game courts, and food trucks. Close to eateries and our favorite ice cream at sweet treats! The renovated house has a very relaxed, serene vibe. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch, coffee in the morning and relaxing to the soothing ocean waves in the evening. Can’t wait to return again!

The house is great. We had everything we needed great location we got to see sea turtles go to the ocean. Went to Southport and walked around. Very nice town. Had a great time.

Relaxed location close to the beach, Publix & food Lion and many restaurants. We truly enjoyed our stay.. updated kitchen all accessories and comfy couches. The porch was a tranquil spot to relax after a day at the beach.

Such a great wknd in a beautiful home! Really enjoyed our stay. Home was obviously recently renovated, super clean, well decorated, available necessities at hand. Description of property accurate! Would definitely recommend to others and would definitely stay again!

This was our first stay at Oak Island and we had a wonderful time! The house was perfect-clean, well stocked with many extras, and beautifully decorated! My family loved the beautiful porch and outdoor area. The host is very accommodating and understanding! We rented a golf cart for the week and enjoyed the ease of getting back and forth to the beach! We found there was always plenty of spaces to park at the 46th street public beach access. There is a splash pad there for younger children and a couple of food trucks there each day. We would love to stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was in great condition and was outfitted exceptionally well, both inside and out. The kitchen was fantastically stocked with all the necessary utensils and pots and pans. We will definitely stay here again, thanks!

We spent 5 nights at this rental and had a wonderful time. The space is perfect for a family of 4. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch, lots of seating options, tons of play space for my small kids and the TV was a great option. The ceiling fans kept the space cool even on hot days. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had a little of everything. The central location is great and close to a lot of things. Would definitely recommend.

We rented this for out of town family to stay for our wedding weekend. It was an adorable beach house! Loved the screen porch and we enjoyed that in the evenings! Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed this beach house! It came furnished with a little of everything you might forget or need. We enjoyed the screened in porch the most, listening to the late night heat storms out of biting bugs reach. Thank you and we will return!

This house was perfect. We spent the days on the beach and nights on the porch. The house had great accommodations and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We love it and will surely be back again.

100% would stay here again. The house is within walking distance of so many restaurants, stores, and the beach! And if you do not want to walk, there is plenty of public beach parking also. The house was quiet and equipped with everything you might need during your stay. I cannot stress enough how relaxing this place is. The screened in sunporch is where most of our evenings were spent. Craig was super responsive when I needed to message him about things and check in instructions were extremely clear and detailed. Highly recommend!!

It was clean. We took our two kids with us. Each had their own room. Everyone room had its own AC control. Beds were comfy. Outdoor shower is always nice to have to keep the sand outside. Covered parking was a plus!

The cottage is a lovely, comfortable little haven just minutes' walk from the beach. The hosts equip you with everything you could possibly need for a lovely time. It was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, but close to everything. Thank you!

Beautiful property in a quiet area. The screened in porch was a nice place to relax before starting the day and a serene place to unwind after a busy day. The bird feeder was a nice touch.
The location was a short walk to the beach. And, it was convenient to restaurants, shops and grocery stores. The kitchen was well designed and well stocked with just about anything you would need to prepare meals.
Definitely plan on staying again on my next trip to Oak Island. Thanks.
