Quirky accommodation that is good value for money

Great location to Mt Kinabalu. Lots of great sitting areas. Very fun grounds with lots to explore. Very friendly dog on site who loves a head scratch. Staff were friendly and smiley.

The bed wasn't massively comfortable. The room was clean but would have benefited from some general upkeep (the door didn't shut fully, and TV didn't work). Good value for money though.

Spacious homestay for family or groups with some lovely set up backgrounds to take picture

I like the spacious living room n d balcony. D owner also prepares some cooking utensils & stove.The homestay has many cute & lovely set up backgrounds to take photos. Just d mount Kinabalu was not visible from this homestay

I didn't like the dirty bedsheet like it was not changed or properly cleaned at all. The window at d room facing the balcony cannot be locked. The bathroom light was not working well, it has a dim light.

Enjoy the GREEN in a KAMPONG / NATIVE style

Helpful staff to assist with bus ticket booking and also good food recommendation. The dorm has a very powerful hair dryer which is useful especially during this raining season of Jan. The kitchen is spacious and clean. The location is about 20min walk from Kinabalu Park which is great. Can experience living in the forest area like the native people.

A bit quiet during this raining season.

Unhappy Garden

Die Aussicht vom Balkon war sehr schön und der Garten auch ganz nett.

Es war sehr hellhörig und man konnte alles von seinen Nachbarn hören. Das Licht im Zimmer war sehr ungemütlich und die Dusche hatte ziemliche Problemen bei der Temperatur- Regelung und wenig Wasserdruck. Außerdem fühlte man sich nicht sehr willkommen. Uns wurde nicht erklärt wo sich die Küche befindet; auf Nachfragen reagierte das Personal eher genervt, Unterstützung bei der Planung einer Wanderung bekommt man hier leider nicht

Perfect stay

The place totally beyond my expectations, beautiful scenery and I am amazed with the attentiveness of the staff and its such a beautiful place to stay, able enjoy hot coffee in the morning on the balcony, I like the decorations and area where we can take pictures. If I have chance go Kundasang again, surely will stay there again.

A solid hostel to stay at for easier access to the Mountain and surrounding nature.

Firm mattress, clean bedroom free of bugs despite being in the middle of the jungle. Lovely location and setup as long as you don't mind a ton of stairs (It is on a hillside). Not busy - only half the beds in my dorm were filled.

The entire cabin shook when someone in the boys' dorm opened or closed the bathroom door, and when someone was walking up the stairs to the cabin. Staff were not overly flexible, though reasonably polite. Driveway was quite steep, be sure to have confidence in your brakes if planning on parking.

Staff friendly, helped to arrange transportation, called the driver etc

At lavatory I miss at least a liquid soap. And maybe a thicker blanket.

Nice place to stay to go hike the Mount Kinabalu

Cheap and well located to go hike on the Mount Kinabalu. The sharing kitchen from the dorm is nice and well equipped.

The dorm a really basic and the night is quite cold with tiny blankets.

very nice accommodation with lots of loving details

super cute place with a lot of love for details, spacious rooms with nice balcony/veranda, cafe and restaurant on site, 15 min walk to National Park entrance in the middle of nature

you might want to rent a car for the area because there is no Grab or bus service nearby and taxis are quite expensive

Very good

Very clean, nice dorm with 2 bathrooms and a kitchen outside - very handy! Closeish to the park - you can walk by a busy road which will take about 20 mins Nice café/restaurant with a view up the hill (not part of the hotel) Good wifi Rainbows every day 🥰

The beds were a bit uncomfortable No curtains to cover your bunk bed at night There was not really any indoor hangout/chill area

Nice and cozy,

Great location and reasonable price

Shower head leaking and ventilation fan not working. Tv control no battery. Verandah chairs broken.

Very good

The room is spacious and has a huge balcony, which is very nice. It is well equipped with a blow dryer, a TV and a kettle.

The ceiling was covered in mold, probably because there was no ventilation in the bathroom. The hotel is also located quite secluded, you definitely need a car if you want to stay here as there is no public transport in Kundasang.

Great value and view, would come back

Amazing view from the balcony - a morning I won't forget too soon thanks to this! Great walking distance to the park as well. Really good value. Everything in the room beat expectations, I would definitely come back here.

The only decent vegetarian option in the restaurant for a meal was the breakfast set, with no meat added (can take the meat it comes with for the stray dogs, there's a few on the way to the park and in the park). Luckily there were restaurants on the way to the park with great veggie options (recommend the first one as you get on the main road). As other reviews say, the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbours even brushing their teeth. All in all, stayed here one night only and definitely didn't bother us.

Lovely garden and Rooms are spacious but paper thin walls

Lovely grounds and views. Food although expensive was tasty. Staff helpful with organising transport. Walking distance (25mins) to Kinabalu Park entrance. Not really a social hostel but maybe that's because I had a private room.

Room had a very damp/musty smell Walls are paper thin and can hear alot from kids screaming next door. Seemed to also be a kids play park with very loud screaming and playing so if looking somewhere to relax in peace after hiking this isn't a great option!

I like the whole area of this place The most best thing about this place is the worker at the cafe... They are the most attentive and awesome feiendly people ..

1. The hill that going up and down leading to the road and the hotel is really steep and narrow... Lack of safety. 2. No one is left working at the hotel after 10pm... So customers are left at the hotel without any assistant and if anything happen to our car at their carpark is our own responsible. Because they dont have any guards working there. 3. Please do have a room heater available for rent and also please install a heater in your cafe as well. Where the temperature can even drop down to 10°c when its a rainy season and monsoons seasons as well.
